Ate here twice during our vacation. Great food , large portions and very reasonably priced. If you like Mexican food , you won't be disappointed.

This has been our go-to place for years. On our last trip to Emerald Isle we were shocked at the difference! There wasn't a familiar face working there. In fact, there didn't appear to be a manager at all. People were waiting, looking confused. A waiter finally acknowledged us, but the experience was not pleasant. The food was just ok.... More

El Zarape was our favorite Mexican restaurant but not today! Our table was dirty, the restaurant is looking seedy and service was extremely slow. It appeared the server was catering to his friends at the bar. We usually avoid El Zarape during tourist season due to the crowds but found only the bar dining area open and only two tables... More

Very disappointed in restaurant. Way understaffed especially for June in a beach town. Took over an hour to get food and many orders were wrong

We had a delicious dinner. Not exceptionally authentic (we are Californians) but good nonetheless. I would go again.

Besides having to wait 15-20 mins (when not busy at all, arrived @5:00) for drinks... And to order.. Our server was friendly and the food was good! Kids had quesadillas and fries and chowed down! I also had a tasty strawberry mango margarita!

Just average. Not great, but Not bad. Wouldn't go back because we love good food and this place is more like Mexican fast food. We Heard Plaza Mexico is better but didn't try it. I'd skip this one though unless you are just looking for cheap Mexican food.

Great consistent Mexican foods. Fun bar area with several booths which is where we prefer to sit. Margaritas, Sangria and beers abound. Large portions and great appetizers. Home made tortilla chips and salsa.

Mexican food is always good. They bring warm tortilla chips and salsa to your table when you are seated. Food always arrives hot and plentiful.

Great family friendly place. Carne asado burrito was the size of my forearm and was fantastic. Mexican beers on tap, family friendly. Can't beat it!
