Hot dogs were good. Server was friendly. But the atmosphere makes it worth stopping in. It is a step back to a time long gone.

Some friends and family went here on a Saturday for lunch, as the place we originally chose to go to lunch had a long wait. I have been to many lunch counter type places over the years and this one was the first to disappoint. We waited 45 minutes for hot dogs and chips, that is just insane. This is... More

Just what the doctor ordered. We had a cheeseburger and grilled cheese. Simple and gooooood! Inexpensive too! We'll be back.

Royall's already exists since 1923 and is run now by mum Debbie and her sons. They are particularly famous for their hotdogs, which they prepare in quantities. We stopped one early morning en route to the Smoky Mountains for coffee and got it freshly brewed for free from Debbie! Hoorah.

I was looking forward to a good hot dog. I got a hot dog that had a bun that was dripping wet. The bun was so wet it dripped onto the deli paper. The liquid dripped down my hand and off the end of my finger. The deli paper was saturated from the hot dog just sitting on it. If... More

Ok let's just take a step back in time, this is a great break from the drive thru fast food that we have found ourself trapped in. The food is cooked right there in front of you, everything is homemade, ( slaw, chili, chicken salad, tuna salad, pimento cheese, and ham salad). Ice cream, thick shakes, and pies. Park on the street... More

We split the hotdog special and had milkshakes. Everything was wonderful. Fried hotdogs, all the way! Enjoyed every bite. Milkshake was delicious, needed a larger straw for the cookies and cream shake. Waitress was very polite and attentive.

You find world class hotdog claims everywhere. Some are very good and others not. These hotdogs were very good. The slaw was wet which made the bun fall apart , but eating with a fork was no problem. The soda shop was very clean and it was apparent that a lot of locals frequent here. Glad I went and if... More

Really good hot dogs! All beef franks, mustard, Cole slaw, fresh made chili, onions. Doesn't get much better than this. No fries, but they do have chips. The home made blackberry cobble must be good because they were all out. Try their malted milk shakes. Ummmmm.

In 1923 this building was built as a hospital upstairs and a drugstore downstairs. Now the downstairs is a quaint soda shop and they are renting offices on the second floor. The sidewalk in front is also part of the Mountain-to-Sea trail. I had a grilled cheese that came with enough cheese for 3 sandwiches. It was one of the... More
