I grew up eating at the Circle's drive in on our way home from visiting family in VA. Waitresses coming to your car, getting your order, then bringing a tray full of food back to your car. Food was good then, and still is today....The restaurant looks different but their sandwiches and plate meals are good, down home cooking. The fact it's been around at least 65 years is proof of great food!More

This restaurant is old and well worn with almost dead flowers and needs a good cleaning. Food is home cooking not prepared and heated.

First second we walked in to place quite a large order for to go for a birthday party, we got pretty rude attitude of the lady at the register who was popping her eyes at us, like wtf you want in here?! We all got...menus, while some of were done with decision and some were still Looking at it, we got again the worst customer service attitude from the lady with popping eyes asking “are you done?” Yeah, we were done. Walked out and never coming back! Her service doesn’t worst your money, spend it elsewhere where you are welcome.More

We stopped in here last year. The biscuit, chicken, green beans, hot dog, fries, and desserts were good. We would go back again. Service was friendly. The buffet was always stocked with fresh/hot food. Parking is plenty. Prices are great.

The Circle Restaurant is the best place to go to in Elizabeth City for a home cooked meal with a variety of options. The menu items and prices were awesome. I was able to eat off my go order for 2 days, that’s just how...much an abundance of food you’re provided. The staff was every pleasant and accommodating in providing menu options. I recommend you stop the Circle Restaurant for a nice home cooked meal.More

I love coming here for their buffet. It is small, but the food is delicious. It is the type of food grandma would serve...a comfort food place all the way!

Fancy? Not even close. Trying to be fancy? Not even close. Good food? No, very good food. Friendly service? Absolutely! Circle Restaurant II offers a menu, a buffet and daily specials...meatloaf, chicken&pastry, ham&cabbage, hamburger steak, fried fish, bbq dinner. That alone should suggest down home...country style cooking. Want something good? Try the cold plate special. Chicken salad, potato salad and pasta salad on large leaf lettuce with sliced tomato and sliced boiled egg and a pickle. The pasta salad and chicken salad are food enough to buy by the pound. Sorry...no beer, but the iced tea is very good. Also a very good place for breakfast. And the prices cannot be beaten.More

My sister and I were visiting Elizabeth City and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. I got their chef salad, and it was absolutely wonderful. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the turkey and ham obviously roasted and sliced right there at...the restaurant, and the tomatoes and other vegetables also crisp and delicious. There was plenty of it, too--I was not able to finish it. Yes, the place is small, but it's a *diner* for pity's sake. I was impressed by the buffet--quite a large variety of food, and it smelled delicious. I was very tempted to go for the buffet, but I needed the fresh salad. My sister got the fried oysters, and they were the most delicious I've tried. Like my salad, the oysters were so plentiful (and FRESH) that she couldn't eat them all. Definitely worth stopping for!More

And that was the lovely fried chicken. Everything else was very mediocre plus much of it was food I never eat like lima beans. Nice people though. If I try it again I won't do the buffet.

This restaurant is cramped on the inside. Their food is run-of-the-mill in its selections. However, the desserts are the redeeming quality. There is plenty of parking and they have daily specials.

I eat here often, and the food is always freshly prepared like good ol' downhome food. Love the friend chicken at the buffet. The prices are very reasonable, and the waitress staff always make us feel so welcomed. A great, downhome atmosphere inside and out.

After a long day Thursday, I wanted something good for dinner instead of going back to the hotel. I drove up Hughes Avenue for a bit, passed this place going up and made a mental note. As I was coming back down the road, I...saw their sign on the shoulder that said something to the effect; "Wanted: Hungry People" and below that "Buffet". I thought, what the heck and pulled in. Now, from outward appearances I could tell this wasn't a new building and the thought was confirmed when I walked in. Although it is an older building was easily overlooked when I saw the buffet bar. Granted, it isn't a Golden Corral scale, but that made it more enticing. I was looking at the assorted dishes when the waitress walked up and asked if I'd like a table to which I quickly agreed. My first trip was fried chicken, mac and cheese, okra and tomatoes and lima beans. Imagine my shock when I tasted each item and discovered it was all home made! The mac and cheese was the oven baked variety that I grew up with and still love to this day though rarely find in restaurants. The fried chicken was seasoned to mildly spicy perfection, the okra and tomatoes hit my soul like an unexpected surprise, the limas were as good as any I have eaten anywhere. My second plate consisted of more mac and cheese, another piece of fried chicken, more okra and tomatoes, pole beans with white shoe-peg corn I spooned over top and homemade meatballs with onions and brown gray. Again, everything was made with love that came through every bite. The meatballs fooled me in the fact they were actually ground beef and not a soy-based store bought imitation. My only regret was I didn't have room for the big pot of butter beans simmering in a soup pot at the end of the bar, or for the potato salad and macaroni salad. If I'm ever in Elizabeth City again, I will have dinner here every night!More

We recently stopped back and, feeling hungry, ordered the lunch buffet. A very good choice! The buffet includes a large, fresh, crisp salad bar, a variety of hot entrees and vegetables, soup, cornbread and rolls - all of which were hot and tasty Way too...much to eat - but wait - there is also dessert! Pleasant decor and attentive service made this a treat for us.More
