We ordered egg plant parmesan with fettucine and a ravioli pasta with garlic wine sauce and scallops The pastas were out of this world a little aldente and the ravioli was filled with a cheese and herb and melted in your mouth. Eggplant had a...bit of crumb texture and a thick marinara sauce all of which went so well with the fat fettucine Atmosphere was dark blue walls, tables open and place got pretty loud when folks began filling tables and chatting on a Friday early evening around 530pm I am glad we got in and out before the place filled up. I cant imagine having a conversation if dining after 6pm on a week end night. We received relaxed and attentive service from not only our server but other staff and they all seemed to be gearing up for what will be steady busy season. I wish them all well cause they seemed cool and focused and ready. I do think there is a need for better lighting in womens bathroom if I were to bring my 80 year old parent she would not be able to see in the bathroom stall.More

Local sourced ingredients, made from scratch all menu selections. On the water location, clean, knowledgeable wait staff. I ordered the fettuccine, vodka sauce and meat balls. First bite told me this is going to be special. Pasta was perfect, sauce was perfect and four perfectly...cooked and seasoned meat balls. Even the Italian bread was a hit. Had Cannolis to go, pastry and filling were scratch made. Family owned and the chef is the owners son. This is hidden gem in Elizabeth City,NC. Will definitely be back.More

We stopped in Elizabeth City on our way to the OBX and needed a place for dinner. We tried getting into Montero’s but it was a 45 minute wait for a party of six. On a hunch, I tried calling Paradiso and they didn’t have...a wait to seat us. It’s a great location, right on the water and frankly everything about our dinner was fantastic. Donna was our server and she was as pleasant and friendly as could be. The menu was interesting and had a good amount of variety. I’m someone who chooses to judge a restaurant by their salads, especially a side salad. If the salads are fresh and thought is put into their execution, everything else is generally very good as well. Well, score another point for me on using that barometer for Paradiso. Their salads were very fresh and my Caesar salad was phenomenal. For entrees, we ordered a pizza, the skillet lasagna, the broiled flounder, the shrimp scampi and more. Everyone in our party raved about their food. What’s more, the desserts were also top notch. Overall this was a great way to start our vacation and you should seriously give this place a try!More

Their pasta dishes are FANTASTIC! The brussels sprouts App and Chicken Marsala are wonderful--ask for extra sauce because that mess is dope.

Super friendly staff and delicious menu as well as drinks. Took some out of town visitors for lunch during big rush and seating expectations were clearly communicated to us. I love when you keep it honest and you do your best. This family owned restaurant...definitely that. Highly recommended and definitely worth local support !More

Beautiful waterfront views. Fresh tasty Italian, with homemade pasta. The bow ties were excellent. The “build your own” pasta featured the pasta being placed in a big wheel of Romano cheese, scraped and blended with the pasta. Fresh cheese, unusual presentation. Salads were very fresh...and nice. Portions were normal sized and not huge, a nice change for Italian food. Only downside (minor), is I think the place needs to refresh the decor to look less like a fish house.More

We have a group of friends that have dinner once a week around town. We waited to come to Paradiso until the 'newness' wore off and we figured the staff had gotten the menu and building figured out. Our wait was pleasantly rewarded. First off...we noticed several vegetable plants just outside the door. Hmm. We were seated promptly in the dining room, it was a little too hot for outside dining which is available on the deck. If you're a little unsteady on your feet, use caution, the plank floor is very wavy! We were brought fresh bread while waiting for our meal. We had Chicken Parmesan and Shrimp Scampi. The pasta was fresh and tasty, the sauce was fresh not canned, The meal came with salad and the vegetables, indeed came from outside the front door! Couldn't get much better than this! Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but will make space at our next visit. Yep, we'll be coming back. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There is a view of the river from every window.More

I love the fried ravioli, fried mozzarella, alfredo sauce, breadsticks, and mama's meatballs the best! They have had some special desserts that we have enjoyed as well. It is the best Italian I have found and I have been to several Italian restaurants! We always...have great service here too. I cannot say enough things about this place. They are always trying new items on the menu and they have seasonal menus. They have live music sometimes and other events (Mother's day, etc.) they post on their Facebook page so follow them if you are a fan. They have a certain percentage off on food every Wednesday as well. Also, you can get take out here and they are on OrangeCrate app! Check them out if you love Italian food!More

I have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions. Because on a beautiful night in June there is not a more perfect location. But once again how can you not have a cold bottle of Pinot Grigio?? Having the server arrive with a warm bottle...of wine stuck in a very nice wine chiller with ice is unacceptable. Please don't tell me to call ahead so you can chill a bottle of wine. Really how hard is it to chill wine? I'm sure that I will be here again and will once again try to discover what people like about it and people truly like it!More

My sister and I were visiting Elizabeth City and chose this place for dinner because it had gotten good reviews. Well, the setting is lovely, but the food was underwhelming. We ordered the chicken marsala, but it would best be described as chicken alfredo--if there...was any marsala in the sauce, we couldn't detect it. The wines, however, were very good. We ordered the mozarella sticks as an appetizer, but the "sticks" were actually flattened slabs of mozarella. They were delicious, though, and the marinara sauce was delicious, too. Luckily for us we had this appetizer since it ended up constituting our dinner. Service was very slow. To be sure, our waitress was waiting on a very large party besides other tables; but our food, which came out just as we were ready to leave, was barely warm (besides not being marsala). We let our waitress know how unhappy we were with our food and to take it back to the kitchen. She did let the chef know, and he came out to talk to us about our dinner. We were going to just pay our bill and leave, but the restaurant very kindly comped our bill. We totally did not expect that--we were perfectly willing to pay for our wine, appetizer, and salad; but the staff insisted on comping the whole bill. Kudos to Paradiso for this.More

We and another couple had a fabulous dinner here, from beginning to end. We each had a really large and very delicious salad. Two of us had the excellent eggplant Parmesan, one of us had the linguini with prosciutto and the other had a pappardelle...special entrée. All were really excellent, with freshly made pasta, al dente. Perfectly seasoned, too. The small breadstick pieces could have used more seasonings, especially garlic. We ended our dinner with delicious cannelloni, beautifully presented. Nice and crisp, with the right amount of nicely flavored ricotta filling. Service was exceptional! This was our third dinner there, and it won’t be our last! We own anbed and breakfast in Elizabeth City, and will recommend Paradiso to our guests!More
