Interesting, appealing decor in an urban deconstructed farmhouse kind of way. Good service. We were all excited to try what we chose-- they looked really interesting. It is not that the food was bad. It was okay. But by and large it failed to meet expectations. My wife's dishes were the best of the lot. A charred corn custard with... More

Went here for dinner as a family prior to dropping our son off at college tomorrow. We had 3 teenage boys with us. Was expecting much more based upon its reviews. Food was good but portions were really small. We have to go someplace later on to eat again. I Wylde not recommend this restaurant.

This is one of our "go-to" restaurants when we want to have a spontaneous casual date night. We usually arrive without reservations and ask to sit at the bar. You can get the full menu there as well as some great drinks while you watch the kitchen in action and chat with the bartenders/servers who are universally friendly, unrushed and... More

We went here for a business dinner and was not disappointed. They seem to set themselves apart by being innovative with regular dishes to provide new experiences for customers. We had numerous shared starters (and went back for seconds) as well as mains. The New Your Steak was excellent and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Will... More

Our server was friendly and responsive but the food was disappointing. The eggs Benedict was undercooked and runny, the tator tots were too greasy, and and the scrambled eggs were tasteless. But that said the French toast was good and so was the brisket. The pluses and minuses equaled an average. Too bad this was our first visit. Should we... More

We were seated upstairs and our waiter, Ian, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu, making suggestions and answering our questions about the menu. We had the Goat Lady Dairy custard and the scallops to start, both dishes were elegantly presented and the portions were not too large. The custard was delicious and novel, and the scallops cooked to perfection.... More

An excellent restaurant for 'foodies'. The menu offered enough of a selection, but not too many choices that you might be overwhelmed. The dishes were unusual using mainly locally sourced ingredients, and put together in a way that really worked. Each course was a delight. Thanks to our waiter Ian who really knew about each dish and helped make it... More

Our first visit for my husband's birthday...and we were very pleased. The food is expertly prepared using local ingredients plated with beautiful style. All was tasty and unusually plated. We had a green salad with apricot and pea purees and scallops with kimchi for appetizers. I got the mahi mahi which had a nice turmeric spice and a carrot puree.... More

While this was our first visit to Piedmont it's been on my radar for a while now and it did not disappoint. We started with the cheese plate and one of their summer cocktails, I had the Mahi Mahi which was delicious. My wife ordered the tile fish which came out raw but our server and the kitchen quickly prepared... More

Lovely rustic elegant farm to table foodie stop! Highly recommend the Hemingway and Champagne cocktails, the pickled beet pimento cheese deviled eggs, the pretzels with fondue, and the chocolate chess pie with espresso ice cream! Double yum!

Piedmont is first and foremost about the food and the ingredients with respect to the connection between the land and the plate. The cuisine is Contemporary American, seasonally focused and ingredient driven. Our menu changes daily based on what is currently available. Our mission is to provide access to well prepared, sustainably raised, local food. We use only local produce, seafood and meats from sustainable businesses to showcase the diversity of North Carolina foodstuffs. We focus on sourcing the best ingredients from local, sustainable producers with our guide being Coon Rock Farm. We are an elegantly casual restaurant that welcomes both the everyday diner as well as the special occasion gathering.
