My favorite 'special side' is the baked potato casserole, all the way. Always ask for it even if it's not posted -- they just may have it! For the main meal, I usually go with the special of the day -- you just can't go...More

Barbecue is moist, flavorful and plentiful. Vegetables are interesting, though best taken at small portion. Definitely one of the 3 best barbecue restaurants in town.

This is a good place to eat some barbecue, but it is not traditional North Carolina BBQ. The have really good meats, my favorite here are the smoked Turkey and Brisket. Good sides.

Excellent. In Oklahoma we have great BBQ but I was in the mood for the change of pace Carolina style, with the lighter sauce and hush puppies. I got exactly what I wanted. Tender, moist pulled pork, great slaw topping, tasty sauce, fresh puppies...delicious.

I had the Wednesday special. The hushpuppies were some of the best I've ever had. The portions were great for the price. A small bluegrass band was playing live music. It was a great introduction to NC barbecue for me.

The Q-shack offers once of the best barbecue ribs of Durham. The large portions are enough for two people. The hush pumping is awesome, as well as the fried okra. Usually during lunch and dinner time the place is crowded, despite the availability of parking.

This place has it going on. These people know how to fill an order and get you in your seat grubbin’ on some food. They have pork butt, brisket, turkey, sausage, ribs, and chicken and all of it is smoked. I got the sliced brisket...More

Yessir, there is a little bit of Texas BBQ love in the Research Triangle and it is the Q Shack. Every meat is tender and the sides are true to form what this Texan needs when away from my Lone Star State! John's tasty tidbit...More

This is my favorite place for BBQ. We moved here from NM/TX, so the NC BBQ experience was different for us and it took me a while to find a place I liked . I have tried their turkey, chicken and brisket. Brisket is my...More
