While we all think we know about fondue restaurants, this melting Pot in Durham with its larger location, expanded bar area and cozy boothes with privacy panels goes over the top. The food is freshly sliced and very high quality sal.on, duck and filet. The...More

This restaurant is absolutely lovely. The seating is quite intimate. We were in a small booth with a curtain that made us feel so cozy. The menu is a tad bit confusing at first glance. But once you begin to read it, the fondue concept...More

Love melting pot. It is a great date night because you get to talk to your loved one while things are cooking. This melting pot has private rooms with frosted doors or curtains, which makes it even nicer, who doesn’t love privacy?

We actually would have had an excellent meal but our server was tall and had long dreadlocks. Not that that’s a problem, but as he leaned over our table preparing multiple courses of fondue for each of our courses table side, his long braids swung...More

This was a special "Daddy-and-daughters" linner (lunch/dinner) on New Year's Day while Mommy shopped with Grandma (her mother). We had great fun, but ate too much! That's okay! Everyone has to indulge every once and awhile! This new location for the Melting Pot is very...More

Description
The Durham Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant that specializes in capturing the ultimate dining experience. My wife and I moved to Durham in 2006 from Tucson, Arizona, to build and open the restaurant. As local franchisees we are involved in the operation of the restaurant on a daily basis and appreciate it when our guests provide us with feedback that helps us provide a better experience. We specialize in providing four course dining experiences, however how many courses you enjoy is completely up to you. The first course is typically the cheese fondue, which is served with bread, apples and vegetables for dipping. The cheese and all the ingredients are brought to your table and melted right in front of you. The second course is the salad course, which is the same as a traditional restaurant. During the third course, which is the entree, all of your items are served fresh and unprepared. You and your guests will be cooking the items in the fondue pot in one of our four "cooking styles". The entree is also served with vegetables and an assortment of dipping sauces. The final course is the highlight for many guests. During dessert you will dip strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows, brownies, blondies, Rice Crispies and pound cake in your choice of milk, dark or white chocolate. Our restaurant is perfect for family dinners or a romantic date night. Our private curtained booths are the ultimate private dining experience and we also offer free child care while you dine with us, so check our website for more details. If you have any questions or need to speak to me or my wife please call the restaurant and ask for our personal cell phone number. Thank You Dan & Katherine Richardson
