See title. In town for the CASL soccer tournament and looking for an alternative to fast food and hotel breakfast. My 15 yr old son, who was skeptical at first for some reason, said his biscuit was "like heaven." I would highly recommend this place.

We visited Rise twice while we were in town for Comicon. The second time we asked of we could come back for a poster they had up. We forgot to return when they closed so the manager came to the convention center to look for us! Amazing! The food was also excellent! Thanks!!

I say take a friend because they have a variety of sweet bakery goods and to taste them all you need to bring a friend or friends. The biscuits are nice and buttery and I love to add cheese to them. The best donut is the plain glazed. It's consistently spectacular. The glaze tastes like it has citrus in it,... More

We stopped in and picked up some breakfast biscuit orders and decided to pick up some donuts too. It was 10:30 on a Sunday and they'd already run out of creme brûlée donuts and apple fritters, but we picked up a maple log, a cinnamon cruller and a plain donut and we're glad we did - they are excellent. The... More

We're breakfast people, but it looks like the city of Durham is not. Other than the Dunkin' Clones littering the consumer landscape, we saw nothing of regional coffee shops/bakeries. Our kin pointed us in the direction of Rise, and we joined the line for a breakfast snack there. The doughnuts are super-fresh, having come out of the oven seconds before... More

When in the South you think of biscuits as the bread of choice. Rise makes an exceptional one. You will want to return and return and return. They are THAT good. Rise offers their basic biscuits with a variety of toppings. On this occasion we had a Fried Chicken with lettuce, tomato, and Duke's mayo as well as another biscuit... More

We may have been jaded by Dunkin Donuts and the like, but this is a wonderful surprise addition to Sunshine Biscuit and the other to-go shops. First, they make a great donut! Of course, you didn't come here for that, did you? So, you can choose among many biscuit options to go with the egg you prefer -- bacon, sausage,... More

This place is just open for breakfast and lunch, and their menu is fairly limited. But what they serve is truly outstanding. Almost any biscuit sandwich is worth it for the biscuit alone, which is fluffy and crispy and delicious. Their special this day was a pastrami, cheese and sauerkraut concoction that was out of this world. Their chicken biscuits... More

We were visiting our daughter in Durham and the only place she said we absolutely had to eat was Rise. We stopped in on a rainy morning and each chose a different biscuit. I had a seasonal special, pimento cheese with a fried green tomato on, of course, a biscuit. Delicious, but very rich! My daughter's favorite is the egg... More

I lived in Durham but moved away. Every time I go back I HAVE to visit Rise! It's great for foodies! I've never had anything that I didn't like. Everything always tastes SO fresh! Cool vibe for breakfast. There's usually a line but they do a great job to keep the job moving.
