Lovely but low key, quality food, wonderful paella. My favorite dishes there are the lamb chops over turnips and the bacon wrapped dates

If it weren't for our theater tickets...we would probably still be sitting in Taberna making our way down the delicious and extensive menu. A small and cozy restaurant that provided well organized and timely service. Everything we ordered was a home run - spinach salad, calamari, flank steak, meatballs in almond sauce, clams, crab cakes, potatoes aioli, flan and chocolate... More

If you are tired of not getting a table at Mateo, race to Taberna Tapas before you can't get in here either. Great food, attentive staff and a bustling atmosphere make TT a winner. There wasn't a major miss with any of our dishes. Order what you feel like eating and you shouldn't be disappointed. Also, while tapas is never... More

I found this place to be a great choice. The place was really busy for a Monday night so at first I was worried the staff was going to be overwhelmed as it took a few extra minutes to get my order in but my worries went away when the food started rolling in and the staff managed the customers... So was in downtown Durham for another reason, but needed a few quick bites. Menu is clearly labeled to what is gluten free. I had the clams and chorizo, lamb, and the grilled squid squid ink rice. All tasted great. Really loved the sauce for the clams and chorizo. The waitstaff was great as well. This place is a tad... More

I love this place. Always good food and good value. The crab cakes, smoked salmon, and several other small plates all rock!

Went for dinner with a friend on a weekday evening. Place started filling up after 7PM, so if you want a table, get there early or make a reservation. The menu is a little shorter than other Tapas restaurants I have visited, but we were not disappointed by the food. Had the Albondigas in almond sauce, roast pork, the tortilla... More

This place never disappoints. Never. It's our favorite place to eat! Between the beet salad (tastes better than it sounds), the bacon-wrapped dates (again - MUCH better than it sounds), and the roasted Brussels sprouts (no words), Taberna makes me happy! Molly, our server, made our visit a pleasure with her humor and menu suggestions. If you have room for... More

Ambiance was very nice - food and service both great. Lots of different dishes to try - we enjoyed all we ordered and everything we spotted coming out of the kitchen looked good.
