Excellent menu and service. Two of us couples ordered numerous plates for the table and just tasted everything. Food was great, as were the cocktails. Highly recommend

Originally from Barcelona, spent a semester abroad in UNC and had to try this Spanish restaurant. Ready to be disappointed I was surprised to see that Mateo is the typical tapas bar you could easily find in Spain. Their tapas are amazing and super well...More

Tapas are a fun way to enjoy many different dishes and Mateo’s was wonderful. We had great food servers, got excellent advice on which wines were to our taste, and every single dish we ordered was delicious. We ordered seafood dishes, as well as vegetables....More
