This was my second visit . The first visit the food was actually pretty good. We went for lunch and there were a total of 7 people in Tamale Factory, including us when we arrived. An hour later we still didn’t have our food. I could...list every poor service thing that happened in that hour. All I can say is, I eat out 200 times a year, and I don’t ever write reviews. It was that bad . Simply the worst service from every aspect of the restaurant that I have experienced in the last few years .More

Having a craving for tamales while visiting my friend in Durham, we made a trek in the pouring rain over to this eatery specializing in this unique Mexican treat. The inclement weather meant it was quiet at lunchtime. We quickly reviewed the menu and settled...on a selection of (soft) tacos El Pastor and Carne Asada, and two kinds of tamales— spiced beef and mushroom. My friend’s plate of tacos arrived way before my platter of tamales, but they were not hot. We were both really hungry and so decided to wolf them down despite the lack of heat. The tamales arrived and were really tasty, but the meat ones seemed to be very light on filling. The masa was very light and moist however. All in all a satisfying meal, albeit not perfect.More

We dined at Tamale’s this past weekend and what a treat it was. The food was simply outstanding! I had the trio of tamales and they were all wonderful. You will not be disappointed!

Just on whim thought of going after work, didn't get there until 8pm, no worries that someone not happy to greet us. We were greeted with a smiling face, seated at a nice table and the waitress informed us of the specials. So glad we...got a cocktail while looking over the amazing menu. Spot on margarita! Got one of the specials and was not disappointed. Enjoyed and look forward to going back :)More

Stopped in there for a meal and was pleasantly surprised at the variety of fresh dishes. Loved the street tacos. I usually do not eat fried calamari but theirs was very light and flavorful. Drinks were fantastic. My wife gave the classic margarita thumbs up...and she is picky.More

My husband and I stumbled across this little place while visiting Duke. It looked intriguing. I am not really a tamale kind of person, but it looked unique and local. This place is awesome! The food is made from scratch and the staff makes you...feel so at home. Several of us came in at once and everyone was running around trying to serve us all. The wait wasn’t that long and staff was great to visit with you and suggest things. I highly recommend it. It’s only been open 4 months so I thought they did great serving everyone during this learning stage. The sauces and pork rinds are amazing and I suggest getting a trio of tamales to see what you like best.More

Was totally blown away with the excellent service and well thought out menu of the Tamale Factory and Tequila Bar! Our waitress was just amazing! The drink menu is extensive and the mixed drinks are crafted to perfection. The fresh fried Chicarrones went well with...our drinks as a appetizer. The best Pozole Rojo Soup that we have had in a very long time. The tamales are house made with fresh ingredients and are light as air and not heavy on the stomach. We met the owner and was truly impressed with her eye to detail and the direction she wanted the restaurant to go. Will be back again and again for another wonderful experience.More

We stopped in for a quick dinner and were delighted! The staff members were friendly and very accommodating of requests (grilling fish and accommodating a picky kid!). Brown paper table covers and crayons made entertaining kids easy! The food was delicious — generous with the...guacamole on shrimp tacos to boot. Now if I can just avoid the delicious churros every time we go....More

Wow! Wish I had taken a few pictures! Next trip. Food was extremely fresh and authentic! Sauces and seasoning on point. If you are carb conscious you can get your tacos on Romaine leaves. Chile Relleno was amazing! Everything so good have to try a...tamale.WOW!! The texture of the tamale was perfect! Not pasty, not from frozen taste. It was “just right”! Plan on becoming a regular!More
