It’s not okay to charge so called “Happy Workplace” fee without notifying customers. Dishonest business! Avoid as far as you could!

Sweets were delicious and we’d come again, but the place had a very frenetic feel and the employees seemed dissatisfied. I think some new management might be in order here. We came several years back and it was so different.

We came for a very late lunch- it was 2 pm by the time we got there, but the website says they serve 11 am -9 pm. There were only 3 other customers, a couple that was leaving and a single guy that had finished...and got up to pay about 5 mins after we arrived. When we arrived there was no recognition that we came in at all. We stood around waiting to see whether we could seat ourselves or need to be seated by staff, but nobody even looked at us. We finally asked whether we could seat ourselves, that was affirmed, we sat down, and got 2 glasses of water and the menu. The couple left, the single guy left and nothing happened. Tables to the left and right of us were cleared of glasses and new glasses water bottles were set up.. nothing. We must have been sitting there 10-15 mins and at that point my husband set his timer and said if they don't ask us for our order in the next 2 mins we are leaving. Well, you guessed it they continued to ignore us and we left. I am really sad about it, but we won't be coming back. I like their food, we have gone there since it was Roses meats and sweets, We ordered take out during the pandemic to support them and overlooked that often the food was cold by the time we got it (and we had a VERY short commute) and that people were unfriendly when we picked it up.More

Went after being recommended there Bao by a friend. The Bao was delicious and the hand-pulled noodles were tasty, however, the ramen was underwhelming(especially given dashi is down the street). The atmosphere was great but overall we thought the prices were high. We believe that...they charge a lot because of the constraints of having a small space and paying your employees well. All things considered, I’d give it a try but expect a pricey meal.More

We sat at the counter and had a cauliflower curry vegetarian dish and a spicy pork noodle dish - both were excellent!

Had the pork bun and beef/celery dumplings for an appetizer both great. Entree I had the braised beef with flat noodles and she had the miso Noodle Bowl which I highly recommend the braised beef with flat noodles.

My 1 star is mainly because of the horrible service received. After purchasing $45 worth of take out, my husband and I decided to wait in the inside for our food. When the waitress asked could she help us we asked for water and was...directed to go outside to a self serve container. I had never been so insulted and disgusted. I wasn't t goodnight to get a glass of water, in your establishment. It was also raining for cryng out loud. We will never ever return.More

Rose's place is small with a few small tables and countertop spaces to sit, but it packs a punch with its Asian-inspired food and sweets! I stumbled upon this place through a recommendation, and a good recommendation it sure was! I came by and after...a short wait to sit since they only have limited seating, I was ready to eat! It seems that they like to rotate different ramen and belt noodle dishes through the week, so definitely make sure you check out their website and menu for what they offer for the day! They'll switch the dishes around to have different broth and incorporate different meats, vegetarian and spicy options! On this day I decided to get the Belt Noodles with Spicy Sauce and Pork Belly. I enjoyed the amount of flavor the sauce provided to the noodles. You can also taste how fresh and well-cooked the noodles are! For dessert, I asked for what they recommended and decided to get a Blood Orange Upside Down Cake. It was a great choice and even though I was glad to get it, I need to make sure a return trip is in order because they had so many other dessert options I wanted to try (but only had a limited stomach!) that included ice cream sandwiches, macarons, cakes, and more! They also repurposed some of their parking lot for outdoor seating when it's busy. Try to come at non-peak hours so you can seat without a long wait!More

Staff was friendly and service was quick to receive such fresh food. We were just passing by on our way to another place to eat and bam! We saw dumplings printed on the window. One u-turn later was heaven. Food was all made in-house and...so delicious and fresh. Going back to try new more menu items. Oh you watch them cook!! Brilliant. Get the Ramen or the hand rolled noodles. Oh my gosh. 🎉More

I was surprised to see a restaurant serving pork buns in the middle of downtown Durham. I was full of anticipation. I came and ordered my buns. While I was waiting, I saw the chef behind the count draped the uncooked noodles on his bare...arm as a rack to carry it to the pot. That was purely gross! I get it. Your sweat will be probably cooked off in the pot. But really? Disgusting!!! My buns were voodoo salty. Too disappointed needless to say.More

Ate here while visiting my daughter. Great restaurant with a great vibe. We had the steamed buns and dumplings as appetizers. Then both ordered the ramen. All were delicious and the pork in the ramen was so tender, you could cut it with your spoon....We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. It was great to see them preparing the food. My only regret was that we didn’t save room for dessert. I guess that will have to wait for our next visit.More

Food was fine. Service was fine. Not fine was the "Happy Workplace" 4% fee that appeared on the bill and which I don't recall seeing on the menu or mentioned by any of the staff. My fault for not questioning it then and instead passive-aggressively...complaining in a forum but, gentle reader, now you know.More

The Lamb Ramen and Belt noodles were amazing!! You need this. Cozy atmosphere and commited technique in the food. The deserts looked amazing but we fell short. Go with an appetite and take one for the team!

We used to come here when it was just a butcher shop and bakery, now we've been here twice as a restaurant. The latest was for Sunday breakfast, and we enjoyed the porridge and Hanoi-style pho. Service was good but not the fastest (it seemed...like you should be able to get pho faster). We did not order any bakery items this time but have enjoyed sweet goodies in the past. The menu is not extensive, and there's not a ton of seating. Also, they promote up-front that they are Asian-inspired but not necessarily 100% authentic. The parking lot is very small. They also add a small charge to your bill to help them pay their employees living wages. I support that but can see where some customers might question that.More
