We love this restaurant and look forward to being there each summer when we are in Duck, NC. The view on the sound is magnificent. However, it is now under new ownership. We just had lunch for 6 people and were very disappointed. A hamburger...ordered as medium came out as over cooked. My soft shell crab sandwich was also disappointing. It also was over cooked and tasteless. The wait staff was OK. I sincerely hope they get their act together before we return next summer.More

Went on a Tuesday evening with a party of 13. Their estimate of a 1 hour wait was spot on. They don’t take reservations. Outstanding service by Dewey. Most specialty drinks were $16. Apps were around $15. Coconut shrimp was plump and delicious served with...pina colada dip. Bruschetta chicken served over rose was also good. Beautiful sunset views.More

We stopped in for a bottle of bubbly while waiting for our rental to be ready. It was a beautiful view and service at the bar was great! Paul and Gabby took care of us.

Let me start by saying that I understand places at the beach have to charge a bit more because there is a limited season to make money. I get that. I do. But for the prices charged here, I expected better food. We got one...app, 2 entrees, one soda, and a gin and tonic, and the bill was $87 before tip. It's located right on the water, they have a ton of specialty drinks, and have ample parking, so I guess that's the appeal My son got ribs. They were tough, and the sauce tasted like it came from a bottle. I had a seafood trio--crab, scallops, and shrimp. They were all well cooked, but lacked seasoning and were drowning in butter. Served with room temperature mashed potatoes (again under seasoned) and some undercooked broccoli raabe. Overall, a bit disappointing. The view is great, they have an extensive bar menu, but really just ok.More

Food was decent. Service was terrible. The moment we sat down (on crappy Rubbermaid chairs that had seen better days) my husband went through the chair and wound up sprawled on his back on the deck. No one asked if he was okay and the...waitress simply stated they would get him a chair from inside. Then there was a live crab in one of the raw oysters.More

My husband got sick from sitting in the Sun while dining outside due to the waiter taking so long with our order. The manager refused to let us sit in the restaurant even though he was sick from the heat. I got a to go...box and he passed out on the way to the car. I will never return. Service and food was trashMore

Stopped for lunch before some shopping in Duck. The crab cake sandwich was perfect. Service was excellent. A nice break from the beach.

We were at the Duck Boardwalk and Shopping area to do some shopping, but the bar there didn't open till 4PM. So we walked to Sunset Grille for drinks about 200 meters away. It was a fun atmosphere with a great view both inside and...outside. They serve beach drinks in novelty cups, glasses and coconuts, of course. The staff was friendly and prompt, which is getting tougher to find nowadays. Large place with lots seating inside and out.More

Fair food nothing great. Wanted a nice view which it had! A bit costly and loud atmosphere.Don’t order the clams on the 1/2 shell sandy and super super super small a waste. Service okay. Was a windy night so ate inside and it was loud...could barley hear each other. The door to the deck kept slamming every few minutes quite annoying. Don’t expect a romantic meal even though sunsets are amazing.More

Best burger ever. My server was lit and the view was sick. Mac and cheese slapped (not for real means good) I like the grill very chill vibes 🔥🥶

This place reminds me of being in the Bahamas. Great menu offerings. Very clean restaurant and have gotten good service here. It is more of a casual atmosphere, but definitely worth a visit. Great views too!

Very good menu selection and excellent food. Good service. The place does get crowded and wait times can get long. It's best to get there for an early dinner.

We traveled to Duck to walk the boardwalk and visit the shops. I found Sunset Grille & Raw Bar after putting information into Google maps. My husband wanted raw oysters, so we thought we stop there before returning to Kill Devil Hills. We arrived and...ordered right before a huge table was seated. My husband had a dozen oysters and there were many small oysters instead of large ones. His shrimp was not peeled before being cooked, so by the time he ate them after peeling the shrimp were getting cold. I ordered ribs and mac and cheese. The ribs were OK but the mac and cheese was cold. We overheard one of the servers telling the large group this was the last day before they were closing for the season so some things may not be available. Had we known that we probably would've went somewhere else for dinner. Not worth the money they charged.More

We got a seat overlooking the sound, but going early, but alas it was too early for a sunset that night. Angie was our Server. She was very pleasant and friendly. However, they were so busy by the time our dinner was served, Angie never...got back to us with the extra napkins we requested, to check on us or to refill our drinks. But all Servers are overworked during this pandemic, so we understood. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp with a tropical pineapple dipping sauce. Excellent! The best I've had in a long time. I really didn't care for the coconut rice though, or the broccolini, even though I like broccoli. I wish they would have let us choose from several sides. But my husband didn't want his coleslaw, so I was happy with that, as it was very good. I had 10 nice sized shrimp that were delicious and I loved the dipping sauce. My husband had the Fried Scallops. There were also 10 of them, plus the French Fries and Coleslaw. He really enjoyed the scallops and the fries had a coating on them making them crunchy. Very good. This is a very nice restaurant, but it is difficult to get in because people come for the sunset. You need to get there early and then you can't sit there for 2 hours or more until sunset. Twice, we rode by and the lot was completely full by 5:30 or so. It wasn't until the third night that we realized we could park across the street. It's too bad there isn't a way to have separate parking for the bar and those just watching the sunset from those people who want to have dinner. Lots of people, like us, just drive by thinking the lot is full and the restaurant will probably have a wait time.More

We had 1 hour and 40 minute wait and it was very difficult to get a drink during the wait. The server was very rushed in serving us once we where seated. My dinner was the seafood trio “the special”. It consisted of large portions...of potatoes and broccoli, and a small amount of seafood. Won’t go back!More
