Not the experience I expected for a couples dinner. The restaurant is really cool as they have restored an old Life Saving Station, but because it's part of a resort lots of kids and babies. Food was good but a bit over priced.

We are sorry your experience did not meet your expectations. We are glad you enjoyed the renovations. Might we recommend Kimball's Kitchen on your next visit which is our more formal dining room.

Breakfast at The Lifesaving Station was great. I enjoyed my omelet and our server, Lisa, was on the ball. Glad we stopped in to check it out. Nice first impression of Sanderling. Hope to explore the rest of the resort sometime.

The Lifesaving Station at the Sanderling has an exquisite menu in casual surroundings. Great fried calamari and tomato/buratta starters, followed by entrees like tuna, mahi mahi and stuffed flounder made for a delicious dining experience on a raining evening. The service was distracted and not...More

Delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was so good one morning, my husband and I split a delicious sandwich and chips for lunch and ate a late supper. jolenepittman@ymail.com

Description
Located in the original—and splendidly restored—Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is a casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine and regional, organic products. New with the renovations is a spacious outside seating deck and large fireplace. Known for its “best breakfast on the Outer Banks” and a-la-carte Sunday brunch, the Lifesaving Station is a favorite Duck, N.C. restaurant choice for both locals and vacationers. And be sure the try the Lifesaving Station’s famous Carolina BBQ Sampler and Spring Mountain Farms Buttermilk Fried Chicken, always on the menu. The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list. Local breweries are featured while specialty cocktails feature coastal “house cocktails” and bourbons. Upstairs, the renovated No. 5 offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to catching the game and enjoying quality cuisine.
