We first heard of Kindred awhile back because it is listed as one of best in Charlotte Area 2018. However, it is about an hour drive, without traffic, from us. Therefore, we have never been until today. If you just walk around the Main Street...More

Made a reservation since everyone we know talks highly of Kindred. Tapas style serving - when its cooked, the food comes out. The menu changes so the online menu doesn't necessarily reflect the in-house menu. This was slightly disappointing since the majority of items on...More

Had the waygu tartare, nice horseradish and mustard bite. NY strip perfect mid-rare, but cut a bit tough. Nice mash in pool of veal jus. Foie gras ravioli nice bites dressed with fresh grated parm and black truffle. Hard surfaces result in hi noise level....More

Made reservations to dine here a few weeks ago with some friends. Immediately noticed their health sanitation score of 88 (B). Gross! Grunge is only cool + trendy until a certain point. We were seated and greeted by our waiter. We ordered a couple appetizers...More

We have been wanting to come here after reading and hearing about how great it is. Kindred lived up to the hype. You need to make reservations. Recommend coming when the Davidson College students are on break or the weekend. Customer service was wonderful. They...More

The wife and I were visiting Davidson for a getaway weekend and we were told by several locals that Kindred was "The Place" to go for dinner; when we arrived we were seated and our waiter explained the items and how each course would be...More

We were fortunate to be invited to a small corporate event here. We had the entire upstairs for the event for the approximately 40 people. Everything was wonderful! Appetizers were great, all the small plates were wonderful (loved the fried oysters!), the wine selection was...More

This was highly recommended by my host where I was staying and it was everything that she said and more. She touted the milk bread and crispy oysters so that is what I had as well as duck fat potatoes. The milk bread was divine:...More

According to sources inside Kindred, the new place will be set up to be a tribute to the early fish camps and oyster bars from days gone by. I am sure the quality of the food and service will be up to par with Kindred. I... More

I would avoid the dressed down look. Casual slacks and collared shirt at a minimum for the guys. Quite a few people like to dress up.
