Usually a staple when we go to obx. But they are not enforcing masks with employees or customers so we won’t be returning.

My wife and I wanted to get an early start so we could visit the Currituck Beach Lighthouse as well as visit Corolla and Duck. We were looking for coffee and a light breakfast. Lighthouse Bagels and Deli had excellent reviews. The first thing we...noticed was the volume of business. They had an online window with about an hour wait. We opted to go inside. They have the lobby set up in a clockwise rotation for social distancing. The staff was very nice and processed orders quickly. I had an onion flavored bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese and a cup of coffee. The bagel was great. Both my wife and I would go back for the bagel breakfast sandwich. The only downside and the reason for 4-stars was because the coffee was not hot and was almost undrinkable. Since the primary reason for the stop was a cup of coffee I was disappointed with the stop. I would definitely go back if I was in the market for a good breakfast.More

Good varieties of bagels with the cinnaburst, and French toast being standouts as well as the more traditional garlic and everything bagels . The most worrisome problem here is the employees attitudes not sure if they over worked or just really don't like being friendly/courteous...to customers.More

Our family stopped for breakfast at Lighthouse Bagels as we read the great reviews. The line was out the door but it moved at an ok pace. We tried several breakfast bagel sandwhiches, bagels, and cinnamon rolls. The entire family loved them! If the line...wasn't so long we would've gone back to get bagels to go! Definitely a must if you're in Corolla. On a side note, you can order online and head in to pick up.More

My daughters and I were looking for a fueled type breakfast and we found it. The bagels can be made to suit whatever you fancy. From proteins, condiments, to type of bagel so many options. Gluten products are even available. Open up your taste buds...first thing in the morning with this place plus coffee. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!More

Called 2-days in advance for our large order, showed up, and they forgot to put it together. As such couldn't fill it. Don't do business with this incompetent bunch.

For many years on annual vacations to Duck and Corolla, we’ve stopped at Lighthouse Bagels multiple times throughout the week, since they have some of the best bagels we’ve had anywhere, even when compared against great bagels from cities in the North. We’ve noticed gradual...decreases in quality over the years, and a couple of things that were particularly concerning on our last visit, so I’m not sure how often we’ll be back in the future. For many years, Lighthouse Bagels has always been a popular spot, with long lines to order bagels and breakfast sandwiches every morning. They have a lot of interesting bagel flavors that we love (sriracha everything, rosemary and olive oil, and french toast being among our favorites). They’re known for having a long line that snakes through the store and outside, making it a slow process to get your order, but usually worth the effort. I’ve always wished they had an online ordering option to avoid the long waits, so I was glad to see that they finally added one this year. On the first day of our trip, I went online to place an order for a dozen bagels and a couple breakfast sandwiches, and I was very surprised to see that the estimated pick-up time when placing an order at 7:30 am was going to be over an hour for an online order. I placed the online order anyway, and left our house after receiving a text that our order was ready a little earlier than expected. When I arrived at Lighthouse Bagels, I saw the typical long line snaking outside the door, as well as a large group of people who had already placed their orders waiting for their orders to be fulfilled at the pickup window out front. Although it had been a long wait for an online order, at least my order was right there to grab when I went to the window. I got the impression that those who had been waiting in person had even slower service than usual that was trying their patience. We also placed a second online order later in the week and it took even longer for the order to be ready, closer to an hour and a half. Although I didn’t have to enter the building to pick-up our online orders, I was a bit disgusted to see a sign on the door of the store that basically said something to the effect that although masks are technically required inside under North Carolina law, the store would look the other way and assume you’re exempt from the requirement if you don’t wear a mask. I haven’t seen anything like this at any other business, either at home in New Jersey or in the Outer Banks, so I was really disappointed to see a business failing to take the pandemic and state regulations seriously. It makes me really question whether Lighthouse Bagels deserves our business in the future. Although I didn’t go inside, I’ve seen several other reviews specifying that staff members inside were not wearing masks, which is reckless and unacceptable. It shows a total disregard for the well-being of customers. In addition to the slow service and potential lack of care for others in the midst of a pandemic, we were definitely disappointed in the breakfast sandwiches on this trip. We’ve raved about Lighthouse Bagels’ breakfast sandwiches in the past, but found them to be very average this time. They didn’t have enough cheese or bacon in proportion to the amount of egg, and just weren’t anything special at all. It’s a shame how much they’ve gone downhill, since we used to look forward to them every year before our Outer Banks trips. We also used to love other items that Lighthouse Bagels offered beyond the bagels, such as donuts, muffins, and smoothies, but we’ve noticed that even before this year, they’ve slowly stopped offering many of those items, to the point that they basically only have bagels now. The bagels are the focus and are still very good, but we liked when there were more options. Between the slow service, mediocre breakfast sandwiches, and cavalier attitude toward Covid, we’ll have to think a bit more carefully about how much business we want to give Lighthouse Bagels in the future. This place used to be great, but is definitely going downhill.More

It can get busy, but the line was worth it. They have excellent bagels and breakfast sandwiches! We definitely will return next time we are in the area!

There's Duck Donuts (cake donuts with fancy icing - some of which you can't taste the fanciness) and Dunkin Donuts (they at least have jelly and cream filled options) and then there is Lighthouse Bagels and Deli. We visited all 3 on this trip and...I'll only be going back to one - Lighthouse Bagels. Everything we bought was fresh & awesome: cinnamon roll, coffee cake and bagels (plain, French Toast, cinnamon burst and beer pretzel). The employee that took and filled my order was great (explained the process, made great recommendations and wasn't pushy). I prefer local, non-chain options but I went to the other two places at the request of my niece and nephew. My pick was by far the best. I'll be going back later this week - so I can try a pecan roll and some other great breakfast treats! In fact, I may buy some for the 12 hour drive home.More
