Good Food and atmosphere

We decided to check out Sundogs while vacationing in the OBX. The service was a little slow but we were understanding because they were understaffed. The food was fresh and tasty. The Caesar salad was fresh and delicious, but I would recommend that they stop putting Bacos on it. Unnecessary and I've never seen bacon on a Caesar.

Relaxed place with good pub food, oysters and drinks

Its a 50/50 restaurant and bar. Extensive bar with a large selection of liquors and decent drink menu. They had 3 different types of oysters and we did a dozen of each for the 4 of us. Then we had some sandwiches and drinks. The waitress was very 'relaxed' and friendly. Closest place if you are staying in rental on the northern end of Corolla.

Ok Roadside Restaurant

The atmosphere is pretty good here. We had 19 people and they were able to accomodate pretty well. I had the blueberry oysters which were good and the shrimp po-boy, which isn't like your traditional po-boy from new orleans. My wife had the pulled pork tacos and fish tacos and she really enjoyed them. They had some cool craft beers on tap. Pretty pricey in my opinion but that's typical of a vacation restaurant place. Kids got there standard chicken fingers and fries, they were ok, fries were good. Not a bad experience, pretty easy going for standard bar food.

Fantastic experience

Went tonight with our family and my in laws. We went to a similar named restaurant in the same shopping center and were totally sketched out by that place. Menu was crazy over priced and really kind of crappy looking. Luckily, we left and went to Sundogs. Small place, really comfortable and inviting when we went in. Our server, Shay (Shae?) Was awesome. Knew the menu backwards and forth, was on it through our whole meal with drinks etc, pre bussed like a champ, and was just all around spot on. The food was incredible. We had great apps of wings and calamari followed by everything from a burger to crablegs to fried rockfish and a sampler seafood platter. The crabcake sandwich was also out of the park. Dont miss this place. It's one of those small town locals kind of place that is just awesome.

Horrible place

Horrible place! Unsanitary food preparation—they used the same cutting board to prepare all food without washing it, including raw food. The menu prices were for a pound of seafood, but we did not receive anywhere near a pound. Our mussels were all shattered, making it impossible to eat one without eating shells. We did not receive full crab legs—we got crumbs at the bottom of the bag—and our “easy peel” shrimp were not cooked enough to be peeled. We tried expressing our concerns, and the manager said “welcome to the beach.” Do not recommend.

Friday evening take out

Friday evening take out - order was ready when promised, individually packed in sturdy containers. Crab cake dinner included 2 good sized cakes with little extra filler. Fish tacos were served in 2 containers- one for the fish and one for the 4 foil wrapped soft tacos, cheese, lettuce, salsa, beans, white sauce (delicious and large enough to share)

Great variety. Wife doesn’t

Great variety. Wife doesn’t like seafood but I love it. There was something for us both. The peel and eat shrimp were large and perfect. I had the shrimp po boy as my meal. Bread was fresh and perfect to hold the ingredients for the sandwich. Wife had the brisket which was very good despite being a bar at the beach. It was nice to have the variety and still maintain good food. I would recommend this anytime. We came in at 8pm and nothing felt leftover.

Order the sticky ribs!

Everything was amazing. No wait. And virtually no one else in the place which had us all puzzled. The food was amazing. the lobster mac was to die for. The sticky ribs fell off the bone and were totally addictive. Will definitely go back.

Delicious half chicken and demi

Had the half herbal chicken with demi glaze, and it was absolutely the most tender delicious chicken I've ever tasted. The skin 9nvthe chicken was delicious and crisp. We're locals, and this was one amazing dish. Thanks to Chef Brian!. He's amazing.

Great sports bar

Like other reviews state, don’t judge a book by its cover—it’s in a plaza with other stores but it has a great sports bar scene inside. Our server, Fred, took good care of us the whole time. We tried the pulled pork mac n cheese, a couple of fried shrimp platters, a Caesar salad and jumbo wings. The wings are pretty big! The mac n cheese was a nice change of pace. Would recommend if you’re in Corolla.

Great food

The food was great and the portion was abundant. The vibe of the restaurant was beach bar fun. Service was excellent considering there were only two servers for quite a few people eating. The prices are a pricey though but overall a great experience.

Great find!

By the outside, you would have no idea that it has really good food! This restaurant deserves praise because it was some of the best food I had all week! Not only was the food great, but the presentation was really cool. The apps came in these little mini fryer baskets...I wanted to take it with me it was so cute! The service was excellent and everyone in my party found something they liked! #winner

Nice Place

15 of us went. Nice waitress. Food was excellent. Mushroom swiss burger was amazing. Wings were good but used to a northern style sauce. Blackened Tuna was good. Neat environment and beachy feel.

Not your typical plaza beach bar

Don't judge a book by it's cover. This plaza beach bar is far from it's outside appearance. Late night music and food. Everything we got was good. Be sure to check out the off print menu specials on the board.

Hungry for a snack
