New Year's Eve Delight

Great hostess, waiter, servers, bar, food. We went for an early-ish dinner at 6:00pm. Business was already going well, we were seated in a timely manner (we had a reservation). Comfortable seating. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all items on the menu and complimentary wines. The food was top quality, deliciously prepared. We ordered the filet and the scallops meals. The menu is varied, upscale, American. There was pleasant, live dinner music, and many, satisfied diners on New Year's Eve. There was a steady stream of diners, and the service was personable, friendly, and efficient. We plan to return to check out their Lunch menu that includes promising dishes. We rate Choplins A+++

Anniversary Dinner

Chopin sent a delicious dinner, ordered by our daughter, to us at the Pines. This helped to make our 65th Anniversary special. We are quarantine and we really appreciated their delivering the dinner and adding a great dessert as a gift. I have always enjoyed going to Chopin for a meal which has always been good. August 27, 2020.

Incredible Restaurant Experience!

One of the most overall incredible restaurant experiences of my life. Choplin’s is right off the highway and yet provides a top notch, extraordinary culinary evening. The halibut was perfectly cooked, crisp, moist in a beautiful broth that was divine. The pork chop was tender, flavorful and not overcooked, as most restaurants fall pray to. Housemade cheesecake was not the sweet cloying dessert you often find, but rather flavorful, moist, with a wonderful ricotta texture. Our knowledgeable, attention server was delightful and enhanced the entire experience. She shared with us that the chef/owner closed for renovations during COVID and included the staff in working on renovations to keep them employed. This is a top notch restaurant any way you can measure a restaurant.

Top Notch Eatery!!

Our first experience here was excellent in every way!! The ambiance is great, a mix of romantic and coziness. The menu makes it clear this is a chef inspired eatery, the choices are all very appealing. We started with two classics: French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. These were both easily the best we’ve had!! The shrimp were colossal and the soup was a step above decadent. Next course was a split of the Choplin version of a Caesar salad: grilled romaine with toppings. This fairly simple salad was loaded with taste. For entrees: we went with the salmon and the Chilean sea bass. Kudos to Choplin’s seafood supplier. These fillets were outstanding to start with, add perfect preparation and the meals were stellar. Our server announced that she was brand new (which always gives us pause) but she delivered perfect service throughout our meal. Prices are on the higher side but easily commensurate with the food quality and service. This is a top notch eatery,,

What a waste of time and money

An excruciating long luncheon experience. Three other deuces in restaurant. Placed a drink order; tea & wine. Hot water came & had to ask for the tea, “ooohhhh”. Took 4 requests to finally get wine after a heart-to-heart w/waitress, 40 mins after arriving. Waitress said she was having a bad day. Should have said “mine started when I arrived here.” While the food was good, this place is not worth the expense or aggravation, nothing was done expeditiously; 1 hr, 45 for lunch. I recognize getting staff is an issue w/restaurants but management must have know there was a problem and not willing to deal with it. So the customers get to suffer and burn the hours away repeatedly pleading for what they ordered. Shameful. Won’t be back.

So disappointed. The appetizer was great, when we finally got it. Our server started out ok, but then ignored us after taking our order. When we ordered we requested to have the appetizer come out before the entree so we could nibble with the cocktail we ordered. After 45 minutes of watching everyone around us (who came in after us) get their apps, we grab our server as she flies by and say, “we will get the app before our food-right? She says, “yeah, yeah. What did you order again?” We tell her and she leaves. Two secs later, our entree comes out. We refuse it because it feels like our server just blew us off. Two mins later someone else brings the entree back. We refuse it again. They say they will keep it hot. It’s a steak by the way and continuing to cook. At this point we would have expected an apology, or an admission that the server forgot the app order, but nothing. So when the app finally comes, we say just cancel our entree because they would be “keeping it warm” for 30 minutes unless we rushed. The manager comes over and tries to get us to accept the cooked entrees we ordered, but still no apology or acknowledgement of server’s oversight. We were very excited to try this place, but we won’t ever be back. I can’t believe that management didn’t even try to make this right or acknowledge what happened.

Unacceptable Treatment After a Poor Experience

We visited Choplin's for the first time for a birthday dinner. We booked a reservation at 2:30pm to arrive for dinner at 7:30pm. I got a text confirming we were booked for a patio table with the option to wait 30+ minutes for an indoor table. We arrived at 7:30, & they were so busy that we weren't able to check in until about 7:45. The manager checked us in, pointed thru a window at a table that would be ours (full of guests at the time), and told us it would be a 10-15 min wait. We agreed to the patio based on that. While we (and many others) waited, they offered free wine to everyone except us. After ~30 mins, our table was finally ready, and we were seated at a plastic folding table with 4 plastic folding chairs & 2 ottomans. It was far from what we expected, but we decided it was fine for ~an hour of dinner. After over 30 mins of waiting to order our food, we asked to be moved inside & were offered two separate booths. We settled for the cheap patio seats to stay together. After another hour, the restaurant was closed and mostly empty, and we still didn't have the food we had ordered. We were offered two free desserts that we hadn't ordered and didn't want because we had plans to eat birthday cake when we got home. Almost 2 hrs after ordering & not seeing any food, I complained. Up to that point, the staff was very kind, and we matched their kindness & positivity. They finally moved us inside to a table & still only offered a $50 gift card (so we could give them more money another day) to make up for the trouble. I had to speak to the owner & FIGHT to get 25% off our bill. We would've been ok with that if the owner's wife and the manager hadn't started blaming us for reserving our table "so last minute" and agreeing to patio seating (which we assumed would at least be comfortable). It was our fault for accepting the cheap patio table and having to wait over 2.5 hours for our food to be cooked. They also tried to make excuses about having two large parties that night. We spent 4 hours & over $500 there and were treated like we were at a cheap sports bar. The wait time and experience ruined multiple other plans we had for our evening and even the next morning (since we didn't get home until almost midnight). The food was great, but don't expect to be treated well if there are any problems at all. Unacceptable. We won't be back.

My husband and I were looking forward to returning to Choplin’s for a nice dinner on Valentines weekend. We had eaten there for lunch a few years ago and had an impressive meal. We had an 8:30p reservation and arrived 45 min early, realizing it would be a gamble if we would be seated early. The place was crowded and the hostess was frantically running around the restaurant performing multiple other tasks, including serving the entertainment drinks, rather than managing arriving guests. We waited 20 minutes and never got an acknowledgement or the chance to even check in for our reservation. I was shocked by the level of disorganization and chaotic vibe within such a highly-acclaimed restaurant. We had no other choice but to leave if we wanted to eat before 10’clock and salvage our evening.

Excellent meal! Again!

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here with 5 others. Had lobster bisque ana great salads. Also Sirloin beef tips that were so tender and so delicious! Server was okay, little slow at times but friendly. Never had a bad meal there. The chef knows what he is doing and makes it memorable so that you never want to cook at home again. Cozy atmosphere too.

We enjoyed a great meal at Choplin’s. This is clearly an area favorite since it was completely full. Danielle, our server, was attentive and accommodating. The crab casserole is a great appetizer, the grilled salmon snd the ribeye were great entree’s.

Just saw on several search engine's that falsely claims Choplin's was Permanently closed. I couldn't believe it. We were just there ! I called to make sure (because I was feeling devistated that our favorite restaurant had closed. This is an error on several search engines . They do not know whether it is by accident or puposely done, but obviously hurts their business. Get the word out. THEY ARE OPEN AS USUAL and their Website gives their correct hours and phone number, so call them. On to my Review from the other night.... The strip mall where Choplin's is located, does not do it justice! It is our go to for Anniversaries, Birthdays, Graduation celebrations from HS, Undergrad, Masters and PhD for our son (His Favorite, too!) I have traveled the world and Choplin's rates right up there with the best I have ever experienced! Also a great lunch menu for a date with a family member or friend. I meet there with friends in the afternoon several times a month It's quiet enough that you can actually hear each other talk and the service is superb! Always!

This place was great. We went for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. We messed up our reservation and booked it for the prior day, but they were able to seat us because someone else had either done the same thing or was a no-show for whatever reason. I had a cosmo and my husband a mojito. Both were good and generous. The bread was delicious and warm, something restaurants no longer seem to do so that was really nice. We shared a small Caesar salad, which was just right for an app. My husband had the filet and I had the chicken marsala. Both were excellent and large portions (we'll both have a second meal today). This place is definitely worth it for a special occasion and a wonderful meal. I love that the chef is community oriented. Highly recommend and it will be our go-to for anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

3 couples, 5 different entrees. Duck, crispy outside, very good orange sauce, 2 leg/thigh combos. Flounder, football sized whole flounder including bones. Halibut, hefty piece over stew of veggies. Salmon, extremely large piece on bed of turmeric rice with a super flavorful sauce. Chicken, breast with mushrooms over Yukon gold mashed potatoes. All were served with a vegetable of the day. Everything was excellent. We had to follow up with Baileys chocolate cake. Yum! Very good food but pricey. Good for a special occasion. Staff was good & knowledgeable

Disappointed This Time.......

We've dined here many times, always a great experience. Out recent visit on an April Saturday night was disappointing.... We had a reservation but were told upon arrival that our table was not quite ready. The hostess and assistant seemed to be a bit frazzled and there were several parties waiting (with reservations). We were seated approx 35 minutes after our reservation time (not great but not terrible). We then waited another 15 minutes for a server to finally "claim" us. He was apologetic about the wait and also warned that the kitchen was backed up. Hearing this, we pushed ahead with our entire order. Then, of course, all of the courses starting arriving on top of one another. Our food was good, with the exception of the French Onion soup (usually a highlight, tonight not so great). Front of the house personnel seemed new. We always held this place in high regard for stellar food AND service and never had any issues being seated at reserved times. Not sure if there was maybe a change in management or ownership recently?

Choplins gives you a fine dining experience with linen table cloths and great service. It was a Sat evening. We had an amazing server, but sadly, we cannot remember her name. She was pleasantly attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her demeanor was very calm and most pleasant... I ordered the Red snapper, served with broccolini and seasoned rice. Hubby order the Rib eye steak with scalloped potatoes and broccolini. I took one small taste of my Red snapper, and I think my eyes started to water, just before I closed them, to enjoy that beautiful moment. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It truly touched all my senses, as well as my soul. My husband said his steak was delicious, and he made the thumb to pointer finger gesture. That's when you know it's good! We didn't have room for dessert, but looking forward to another visit. Don't change anything.
