We ate here last night for dinner, and it was just meh. Nothing special. I’ve eaten at other BBQ restaurants in the area better than this place. It was a Saturday night and not packed (no wait). We still waited for 40 minutes or so for our food. I asked for hot sauce and hot BBQ sauce as well. The waitress never brought it after 5 solid minutes while my family was eating, so I had to go get remind her. Good food, but not great.

Love the railroad decor and classic rock music on the sound system. Service was prompt and very friendly. I had the two meat combo with chicken, ribs, pinto beans, and fried corn on the cob. Everything was delicious but the chicken and corn both really stand out. Portions are gigantic. Highly recommended.

If you like East Carolina barbecue you are in luck. The small sandwich was sufficient. The brisket was good. Hush puppies were great. The Brunswick stew was good. I didn’t care for the potato salad. Too much mayo.
But the banana pudding was exceptional.
Great prices, great service. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean.

My wife and I recently moved to area and wanted bbq. While waiting at our table a stream of people picked up to go orders which raised our hopes. Once the food arrived those hopes were crushed. The pulled pork was ok but the rest was highly disappointing. The chicken was so dry it sucked the moisture out your mouth and required sauce to swallow. The ribs were OK but far from fall off the bone or stellar. Even the sides were a let down with the bbq coleslaw simply disgusting. We each tried 1 bite and pushed it aside. There is far FAR better bbq around so don't waste your time, money, or taste buds at this place.

Ate here today with my family and was charged tip % on tax on the bill . We eat out daily and can fortunately buy what we want, but with that said I don’t expect nor appreciates paying what is not proper or illegal. Any can do math and if they do 15 % on this ticket and get $4.90 then it is on tax too ! Plus someone from restaurant is debating it is not so , ? If someone can come up with a different total I’ll be happy to apologize ?

I've been going to R&R for several years but usually it's carry out. No problem until today's trip. I had to pay $8.00 for 2 little squeeze bottles of BBQ sauce which has always been free in little containers. I watched as several customers got the usual containers but noooooo I had to pay $8.00 for at best 16 oz of sauce. Never going back.

I've lived in this town for 16 years and have at one time or another been to this restaurant. I was jonesing for BBQ last week so I went there. I forgot how unprofessional and ignorant the young ladies are in this restaurant. I am a woman in my 50's and have always had issues with waitresses calling me honey or sweetie. It's embarrasing for them, not me. It shows how clueless they are. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. To go. The dining room was not crazy busy and there were plenty of employees, and yet my sandwich took 18 minutes. I made no comments about how unprofessional they are and I made no sighs or impatient toe-tapping, I believe in not pissing off the people who handle my food. The food here is not bad, it's the service, it always has been. Southerners are infamous for going to restaurants that epitomize "the old days", in other words when white men ruled the world. I live amongst them

Ordered curb side take out. Got there and had to wait at least 5 minutes or more to get the food They knew that I was there. I blew the horn getting ready to leave and a young man walked out. Had to leave a tip because the machine would not accept my card without. I ordered a kid's barbque sandwich and a small cherry lemon sundrop. Forgot to order sauce and the girl that took my order on the phone was to busy talking to someone else to ask. The bill came to $11.20 for a kid's sandwich and a drink. Won't be back there anymore I have eaten there may times in the past and it was never like this. The barbque was very dry and didn't get a cherry lemon sundrop they forgot to put the lemon in it. Bad service and very bad food

We went as a family. I ordered a "chef salad". I haven't a clue what they brought me. It was some chopped up lettuce you would see McDonald's use for their burgers. A sprinkle of ham, cheese, and egg. The tomatoes were not ripe and hard.
Everyone else seemed to tolerate their meals, but that was the worst thing I have ever seen.

Ordered carry out and waited 35 minutes and finally gave up and left. Pure chaos and unorganized staff in that place. Will never go back. If I could give it a negative 10 review I would.

After a visit to my husband’s eye doctor in Concord the other day, we stopped at R&R BBQ on the way home for lunch. We live in Charlotte and my husband had eaten here once before, but not me.
It’s off the beaten path, but you can see it from the highway and does take some winding turns to get to it. Don’t worry about that, it’s worth it! The restaurant is old style, has a 98.5 sanitation grade, which is excellent in my book, and the ladies restroom was very clean…another good sign that the restaurant is clean and the owners take pride in it the restaurant.
My husband ordered a plate, while I ordered a senior sandwich that came with French fries. He ordered onion rings with his so I could have some of those since I don’t like French fries.
My barbeque was very good and you have a choice of two or three sauces. I used the sweet sauce on mine and it was good. My husband liked his plate as well. The barbeque is good and the hush puppies are a very nice burst of wonderful flavor on your taste buds!
All of the staff was very friendly and happy to serve you or help you in any way they can. If you are in Concord, make a stop at R&R BBQ; you won’t regret it.

Classic east Carolina bbq! My son and I met here while in town on business. The pork bbq is fabulous! The Brunswick stew is a must have! My son had pork and baby back ribs. We loved the mustard and hot vinegar sauce. Great side dishes and the home banana pudding is great.
