Good southern comfort food available . We also enjoyed the scenic overview. It was not fancy but good pricewise.

Sign on front door stated that masks were not required of staff or customers. Staff were indeed not wearing masks nor were diners six feet apart. Be cautious if you choose this restaurant.

This is the most basic food, and is extremely overpriced. Club sandwich was $12! Grilled cheese was $10. The food is fine, but certainly not worth the price AT ALL! They didn't particularly seem to actually want people to dine there. They had a sign...up that it would take 40-45 minutes to receive food once the order is placed. We were told that again by the hostess. She almost seemed disappointed that we said that would be fine and we took a table anyway. We were tired from hiking and this place had a parking space and it was cool inside so we honestly just didn't feel like going elsewhere. Under normal circumstances, we probably would have. Bathrooms are not clean. There is no mask requirement of customers or wait staff. There is no social distancing of tables. There weren't a ton of people in there, so it worked out. I think most people heard the 45 minute wait time and just turned around and left. Not worth the price. Head down to Riverwatch instead. Food is much better and worth the price you actually pay. A family of four eating at this place for basic sandwiches you can make at home for a $70 bill was just ridiculous. Not worth the price at all.More

We were excited to eat at old Rock Cafe, but they were closed. We seen Gennys and decided to give it a try. Upon walking in we had a bad feeling and should have left!!! Most of the tables were dirty! We sat down and...the waitress took our drink order. This place is filthy and the food was disgusting! Nothing fresh, all frozen! $14 for a chicken finger plate with frozen tenders and cheap crinkle cut fries! Random people walking in and out of the kitchen, bugs on the window sill, filthy dirty! We barely touched our food and got out of there as soon as possible! Also, they are not covid complaint! Workers were not wearing masks! STAY AWAY!!!!!More

We had breakfast there.. we ate on the deck and every booth was filled with customers. There was absolutely no social distancing. Servers did not wear masks. All condiments were on the tables and I am sure they were not wiped down between customers.Jenny's needs...to follow the requirements or be shut down.More

We recently had dinner at Genny’s and were horribly disappointed. I had a guest with us and was embarrassed. My guest and I ordered one of the specials, country fried steak. It was obviously something frozen and slightly warmed in the microwave served with very...salty jarred gravy. It was in no way homemade as they claim. On top of that, our server never checked back on us and my husband was without a refill on tea most of his dinner. It is a shame because we visited this restaurant a few years ago and liked it a lot. On top of the poor food, they were not complying with COVID guidelines and none of the servers were wearing face masks. This made us all uncomfortable. We will not be returning.More

In the past we have always enjoyed eating at Genny’s and have never had an issue with the food or service; however we were unable to eat there during our most recent visit to Chimney Rock in July 2020. The restaurant does NOT comply with...the NC Governor’s Executive Order requiring face coverings to prevent the spread of Covid19. There are signs posted outside letting you know that they do not require their employees to comply and will not require customers to comply. There is nothing posted stating their policies on social distancing, increased cleaning/sanitation or whether they are operating at a reduced capacity as per recommendations. It’s like they think the pandemic is a joke. It’s EXTREMELY dangerous for them to be operating in this way, especially considering the influx of people to that tourist area over the last two weeks. No vacancies were available at all for the weekend of the 4th of July in Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, everything was booked. Which means that even though that area has not had many cases, people were visiting from places where Covid19 is much more prevalent. It’s very disappointing because we have always enjoyed Genny’s in the past. Due to their blatant disregard for their customers safety during this time we will not be returning on future visits.More

We were in Chimney Rock for 3 days and ate breakfast here twice. The food was good and plentiful and the servers are very nice.

Ate here after hiking at Chimney Rock and enjoyed it. It’s not fancy, but our food was good and staff was friendly and helpful. We sat on patio and ate lunch by the river. I would definitely return here if in the area.

The lady who took care of us was very nice and the restaurant is interesting. The food is average for a small lunch place. Set on the river so the view was good.
