Had a great breakfast with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Can get busy and the service is on the slow side.

Husband and I visited Ginny’s for breakfast and I so wanted to make this my favorite as they had patriotic things hanging throughout the restaurant. So when my breakfast sandwich came out without eggs (I didn’t order it that way) and both of our meals...were served on paper plates....the final straw was that we were charged $0.99 for charging our cell phone while we were eating our breakfast. My husband did ask if it was ok and the cook said “oh yeah go right ahead but it will cost you $5.00...we actually thought we was kidding but who the hell does that?! No thank you...will return to Medina’s if back in the area. They truly appreciate your business.More

Following a disasterous visit to the highly touted Medina Restaurant, I stumbled upon this gem. My omlette was fluffy and hot, hash browns just perfect, and service cordial and friendly. The anger I had by my bad experience at Medina was dissipated by the friendly...atmosphere at Genny'sMore

I stopped by Genny's a few years back returning home on my motorcycle and had a Carolina Burger. It was great but I never had an opportunity to return. This morning, Columbus Day, my family decided to have a breakfast celebration. We didn't really have...a site in mind, except my son wondered if a eatery in Chimney Rock would be good. It is within 10-15 mi from home so I did a web search and only found two restaurants serving breakfast. I suggested we try Genny's from what little experience I had. We arrived about 9:30 and the long porch overlooking the river was already full. We got a large corner and the six of us were made very comfortable. The waitress, already overworked from the porch, was very pleasant, smiling and explaining the menu. We ordered and expecting a little bit of a wait got what we expected. (It was a holiday). But when the food arrived we were very pleased. Oversized biscuits, plate-sized golden brown pancakes, grits, six different orders, none mixed up and the food was GREAT! I sometimes get up in the morning and fix myself an omelet, so when I saw the Garden Omelet, I lit up. Green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms encased by and covering a three-egg omelet. Included was grits (with Texas Pete on the table waiting) and a man-sized biscuit. My son even commented that the OJ tasted special. We went away very pleased, nice atmosphere, courteous service, and great value. I hope we can redo it before next Columbus Day. Some reviewers said they thought it was expensive. Get real, folks. CR is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the State. We, my family, are pretty much locals. No, it's not Waffle House. But the price was every bit commiserative with the value and quality.More

Got there early, no wait, great service and lots of food. Only problem is parking if busy. They only have (I believe) 10 spots.

A great family type eatery with covered patio dining by the water. An extensive menu to choose from. The burgers were huge, 1/2 lb. patties and served with fries. Prices were comparable to other tourist areas.

My husband and I were just driving around and came upon this quant restaurant. We had a very nice breakfast and a good server.

The view of the river was great and our waitress was good. It was downhill from there. $30 for my wife and I, and the food was very average. The hash browns were greasy as were the eggs, grits and sausage. Plus they used paper...plates and the place was dirty. At least they were honest that it would take 45 minutes to get our food after ordering. We will not be returning.More

The chili I ate tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the pan with added water. I'm serious. The broiled fish were two very thin pieces that apparently were just put in the oven out of a package with no seasoning, butter etc....My girl friend's fried chicken was over cooked and was not juicy at all. I'm very easy to please when going out to eat. I will never eat there again.More

Four of us ladies ate there today and although they were short handed- the food was fantastic. We sat outside above the creek, beautiful. A very nice experience.

My husband and I got food for breakfast at Genny’s (notice I said “GOT”) I could not eat it. It was the most disgusting place I have ever ordered food from. The booth that we sat in smelled like Pee. My husband and I both...ordered a western omelette. I took one bite and just couldn’t eat it. The omelette had a slice of American cheese on the top and a slice of American cheese on the inside of the egg with some onions, red pepper. The hash browns looked good but had no taste. The best part of this meal was the water that was in the to-go-cup. My advice is don’t waste your money.More

I’ve been to Genny’s Restaurant a few times. I usually get the Flounder sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The fish is so delicious and I just love the brown gravy on the potatoes. Definitely worth the wait.

None of the staff were wearing masks! The food wasn't fresh and was way overpriced. We were expecting an authentic southern meal but were served bland food that tasted like it was from a can. The "country fried steak" was literally a well-done hamburger patty...with onions and peppers on top. We spent $60 for a family of 4 for food that wasn't worth it. We spent the same amount of money at the brewery next door which prepares all food to order and it was terrific! Don't waste your money on Genny's.More

Pretty horrible. There was only 3 people working and a lot of people dinning in. We ordered and wait about an hour just for our drinks. Then we finally got our food and it wasn’t worth the price. The country style steak was $11.99 and...it was only the size of the small palm of my hand. It had a weird texture too. The mashed potatoes were pretty gross, they tasted chemically. Our family of 4 spent about $75 here for probably a $35 meal, if that. Don’t go here if you want to wait forever just to waste all of your money.More

CHRISTIAN owned family establishment! Christian music and atmosphere. They were packed as many other restaurants are closed or shut down but immediately let us know before being seated that the food (once ordered) would take approximately 45 minutes. We were good with that. My three...boys 8,9,10, husband and myself enjoyed the warmth and waited. Food was great! They even accommodated my middle son with another side item because of his fish allergy. Several other factors such as open carry makes this establishment a definite go to for Americans who still appreciate freedom. I love supporting businesses such as this!More
