Just outside the park entrance, location is very convenient but food and service were both really good! They actually have quite an extensive menu. Back patio and lawn were very welcoming on a beautiful, sunny day and perfect for hanging out with your dog if...they are along for the ride. Old Rock Cafe was the perfect lunch spot for us on the day we visited Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. I had the avocado chicken sandwich that was served on Ciabatta bread - it was very good and came with fresh avocado, lettuce, tomato, red...onion, and Provolone. This is an order at the counter type spot, but the service was very good and friendly. I was expecting snack bar food; this was definitely a step up from that. They had just whipped up a fresh batch of avocado mayo, so the server added that on the side, nice touch. My husband had the barbecue chicken sandwich and enjoyed his as well. The portions were really generous. Prices very reasonable, especially given that this is a tourist area. The weather was beautiful on the day we visited, and we enjoyed sitting at one of their outside tables by the river. The cafe is located very close to Chimney Rock right on the main road. Would recommend this spot if you're looking to eat near this state park; we'll definitely go back the next time we're in the area.More
It was a quaint lil drop by place along Chimney Rock village. The food was really good and the place had outdoor dining so we could carry out pet. Nice burgers, salads, and you gotta try the old rock club sandwich... Fries? They are a...plenty. Filled this happy guy up!!More
Stopped for lunch after hiking chimney rock. Not many places to sit inside, but plenty of shade on their multiple patios. Food was very good, and fairly fast. After we ate, we went down to the water and played in the rocks for a bit!
A nice place along the river for a quick lunch. Service was quick and the food was good. We enjoyed a club sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich. Really liked their coleslaw - creamy and peppery.
We walked in to order, slow day, they did not greet us at all! We walked up just ordered plain burgers and fries and onion rings, asked for pickles none said relish on table! Did not smile or act like wanted to be there at...all! We got our food it was okay, fries too salty and greasy! I went back to see if any desserts since none were on the board, oh yeah got cookies! The Chimney Rock chicken sandwich and Cheerwine burger were delicious. They offer gluten-free rolls. The staff has attention to detail and are incredibly approachable and down-to-earth. Cute outdoor seating facing the river. We will definately return soon.
Stopped in after a hike at Chimney Rock. Had great burgers and friendly service! Will go back next time we are in town!!! Homemade potato chips were great too!
Came to eat lunch after visiting Chimney Rock. The burgers were real hamburger patties freshly made, which is rare to find. Good fries, great spot for burgers and fries after walking all morning at the park. Good food!
Went to eat after the day in the park , excellent burgers and fries . There was crowds but these people moved through them in minutes . Great place to stop in after the park .
Read everyone's reviews said it was a great place. Drove up from Charlotte with my wife for a lunch date. Was closed for inside dinning but one of the staff realized we where new and came out to help us. So lunch date in the...car due to rain and cold. OMG it was so worth the ride and will definitely return food was so good and plentiful. Highly recommend for the next person.More
They were slammed and still managed to have order fulfilled within 10 minutes as promised. These two guys were rocking it!!!! Best Reuben I have ever had and the outdoor picnic table view was spectacular.

After hiking at chimney rock we were starving and decided on this restaurant. It was very good. Both my kids got the wings, which they loved. My wife got a huge burger and I had the club. Total was about $50, which is normal. Parking...right across from restaurant and it is $5 a day. They have a huge menu so would be something for everyone. Kids loved that cheerwine is a fountain drink there.More
