First off, I cannot believe this place is listed on Tripadvisor as "Fine Dining". Expensive does not equate to a fine dining experience. Anyway...... To be fair.......I try to avoid going out on all the regular "Holidays" because you already know it will be crowded....But this past Fathers Day our daughter was coming up from Miami solo since her husband had unavoidable business to deal with. We decided to try Ruths at the Cherokee Casino. We just moved up here full time but have owned a residence in the area for over 30 years so we are fairly familiar with all the local dining options. We decided on Ruths so we could have some fun beforehand in the Casino. I booked about 10 days in advance just to be sure we could get in. To be honest, I am not a Ruths fan to begin with. The location in Ft. Lauderdale, not far from where I lived the past 65 years, is OK at best. We had a few business meetings there and we were never impressed. Shulas is a far better option IMO. But now we live here full time so why not give this one a try? When we booked I specifically required a booth. I do not like dining in the middle of a crowded room and made that clear on the reservation. We arrived at the Casino.......which is really nice now that smoking is forbidden....... a few hours early and did some gaming. About 20 minutes before our reservation we walked up to check in. Now I should have known better being that this location is right in the middle of a Casino. But the website specifically states "Business Casual" dress. The people walking in and out looked more like beach casual. I don't want to sound snooty, but at 100+ per person I don't want to sit by someone in cutoff jeans and sandals. We can do that at McDonalds. So we checked in and 15 minutes later, even though we could see numerous open tables, we were called for seating. Our daughter told them we had requested, and wanted, a booth. Sorry, none available. Well, we requested one well in advance so what can you do? We were walked in to a table for 6, kind of silly for a party of 3, which had 1/2 booth seats against the wall and one side open seating, right next to the entrance door. Nope. No entrance, no exit, no serving area, no bathroom area........I don't make reservations in advance for lousy seating. The lady called over the Manager and, in all his professional wisdom, instead of suggesting we wait for a booth to open he just told us sorry, there was nothing he could do. What? Really? I mean, you don't even suggest going to the bar until one comes open? So I told him thanks anyway, we will dine somewhere else. And I suggested to him in not so quiet a voice that they remove the dress code from the website since anything above complete nudity seemed to be acceptable. So we had a couple of more beers......once again the rest of the Casino and every staff member we interacted with was great......then left the Casino and headed down the street to Osaka Sushi house which has some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. I guess if you want to go there just so you can say you ate a 60 dollar steak, have at it. For me, I expect better treatment and a more sophisticated atmosphere for those kind of prices.More

Judy, Judy, Judy was superb in serving our dinner. Divian, a working Manager and another manager doing Chef's duty showed the multitude of skills necessary ffg or them to move up the administrative ladder. Had the Ruth's Chris Special, starting with a generous steakhouse salad,...a perfectly broiled lobster tail with hot gee, and a nice 6 ounce mid-rare filet mignon. A side of fluffy, buttery, garlic mashed potatoes was a perfect accompaniment. A cup of freshly brewed hot black coffee (thanks to Judy ...) and a mini cheesecake with raspberry gelee and fresh strawberries, blackberries and blueberries was a delightful shared finish. RC has never disappointed. It's worth a visit. Be SURE to make a Reservation !More

My wife and I visited the Cherokee location on Sunday June 5th. We had a 6 pm reservation. We were staying at the hotel and had Caesars points so decided to try again as we ate there last year and it was just an OK...experience. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken and I got the NY strip which I ordered Medium rare. When the food came my wife's chicken was not cooked all the way through as it was raw in the middle. My steak was also cook medium well with no pink in the middle. We showed it to the waitress and she apologized and said she would take it back and let the manager know. About 5 minutes later she came back asking if my wife wanted them to start a whole new order of stuffed chicken which would take 20 more minutes or just continue to cook the previous order. She said to just continue to cook the chicken as we had already been waiting for quite a while. About 10 minutes later our order comes out which was a new steak and the same chicken cooked longer. The chicken was very dry and seemed over cooked now. Not once did the manager stop by even though he walked by about 5 times. When the waitress came by again we expressed my wife's displeasure for the chicken and I asked why the manager hasn't talked to us. She then said that she would talk to the main manager and have her some over. About 5 minutes later the waitress came back and said the main manager was too busy to talk as she was cooking. A couple minutes later the other one came up and had the audacity to say "I heard you didn't like the chicken". I didn't realize that under cook chicken was a reason to dislike it. He lacked the skills to deal with such a situation and said he would take it off our bill. When the bill did come we were charged twice for her side. The waitress ended up taking it off so we weren't charged. Not what I would expect from such a high priced steakhouse. Not sure if I'll be back.More

The kitchen needs to better understand how to time plates between courses. We started with the Artichoke and Goat Cheese dip with toast points. It was very flavorful. Almost immediately after its arrival, we received our salads. I also think this is the fault of...our waitress, who should have instructed the kitchen. In fact, “Julia” often disappeared for long stretches. We had to ask twice for our water to be refilled. We noticed other tables received their second courses right after their appetizers, so definitely a learning opportunity for the kitchen. Anyway - as for the salads - I had the Wedge. It was tasty, but drowning in Blue Cheese dressing. The lettuce ended up soggy before I was halfway done. My husband had the Caesar Salad and he said it was very good - fresh lettuce and nice soft croutons. The NY Strip was excellent - very flavorful and cooked to order: medium rare. The Loaded Baked Potato was dry and a little undercooked. I had to ask for extra sour cream to choke it down. In summary, not a horrible experience, but should have been better at this level of restaurant.More

This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant and the steak was not good. The first time I didn’t say anything and just thought it was just a one time mistake. This time I got a tiny steak that looked like shoe leather...when I ordered a medium rare. I sent it back a waited forever to get another overcooked steak that I could not eat. The manager came over and agreed that the steak was not cooked properly and said he would take 22 dollars off. My whole meal should have been refunded. I waited 30 minutes for the second burnt steak. Management is not up to par.More

Reservations were almost 1 hour behind. Our reservation was for 8:15. Hostess was not helpful just kept saying it will be longer keep coming back up. When you do go back up she is not friendly and acts like it is inconvenient. Food took a...long time to arrive and when it did some people's food was hot some cold. Medium rare steaks cooked well done. Waitress did not bring drink refills, or child's drink. Asked for several items more bread , silverware as we did not have enough but was never brought we shared among our table. We had never been to Ruth Chris so we were excited to try for my husbands birthday but we were very underwhelmed.More

The food isn't any better than Shoneys or Cracker barrel. The service was average. Had a reservation they didn't really care about. Why make a reservation to be put on the waiting list when I arrived. Lower your prices or step up the game.More

Food just average as well as service. Heard about this restaurant for years. It does not live up to the hype at all. Server mentioned after the fact that rarely do people enjoy the Lobster bisque. Over priced for such below average food. I suggest...that you just close it down and take all employees and get the Gordon Ramsey going. $200 meal 🫤😒More

Although we have been to several of these restaurants in several parts of the country it’s difficult to give an overall review. It’s kind of hit or miss with this chain. Some are very good, others not so good. Here at Cherokee we have had...very good experiences. The wait staff is excellent and the food normally prepared properly and served well. It’s a tad expensive so it’s not a value meal but overall the steaks are better than your average steak house. They do insist on serving your steak on a platter that is so hot it is impossible to touch for several minutes but it does keep the steak hot throughout the meal. Overall we give the Cherokee restaurant 4 clams and the chin as a whole 3 clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating ScaleMore

We reserved a table at Ruth’s Chris in Harrahs Cherokee for our 25th wedding anniversary. Expected fine dining . Didn’t really receive it . We were quite shocked actually. This is the only Ruth’s Chris we have ever dined at. Following is a list of...the good and the bad . The Good Proper lighting , slight attention to the fact it was my birthday and the gluten free needs . Quiet atmosphere, quick service , waitress explained options well, menu was easy to navigate. The Steak was Delicious. The Bad Tables are not set properly. To be honest , not at all . Silverware all wrapped up in the napkin. Bread was served , it was prepared early that morning. Problem was , this was evening dinner . Community water left on table , no wine glass , My wife and I were the best dressed customers. All I did was neaten up , and throw on a sports jacket . The bar was more active than the dining area . Also was the focal point of the entire restaurant. Why do you need a large screen TV in the dining area? What is this ? Great , the National news . Nothing says elegant dining like the latest bad news or local murder while you cut your steak . Waitress was polite and helpful, but not professional. If you want to be seated quicker , just ask for the bar seating . No need for reservation. We stood there while 8 people were ushered in ahead of us even though we had a reservation and they didn’t. The top of the upholstered bench seat where my wife sat was covered in dust or cobwebs . I stared at that while I contemplated dessert. Paid 200 bucks for a steak dinner . The steaks were amazing, but that is all that was amazing.More

We always love to eat at Ruth Chris whenever we can. We do not have one local to us. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservations time. Our waitress/server was quick to take our drink order and bring out that warm delicious bread....Orders were placed and food was brought out within 20 minutes I would say. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. My only complaint and it is a small one is that both couples in our party ordered Brussel sprouts and they were brought out cold. Because we didn't want to be a bother, we ate them. They were still good, but would have been much better served hot like always. Make sure to make reservations as there is limited eating option here a this casino.More

The seafood tower small is enough for 2-4 diners. Loaded with 8 U-size shrimp, 2 lobster claws, 2 teriyaki ahi tuna 2 oz bowls, 2 crab claw 2 oz bowls, with side of grilled half lemon, Russian dipping sauce and cocktail sauce finish the appetizer....The grilled Chilean seabass on a 500° plate sauted the bed of spinach accompanied by French mashed potatoes. Fresh Berry topped cheese cake, a round 4" tart like Graham cracker crust loaded with cream cheese filling and hot, black coffee completed the meal.More

We ate at Ruth Chris last night. By far the best meal while in Cherokee. Steak, shrimp, & lobster were fantastic & our waitress went above & beyond…Never had to ask for a refill for our drinks. And best of all my kids & whole...family could not go to the food court together, but we were all able to eat at Ruth Chris’ together…Nice family atmosphere. Highly recommend!! We chose the Porterhouse steak for two. A great choice, but selected Medium for the grilling. Bad choice! A third of the steak was so rare we could not touch it! My fault for sure.
