Outstanding Food and Service

This is a must visit location! We stopped by for breakfast, returned for lunch and bought a chocolate bomb to go!!! The flavor and flakiness of the croissants are unlike so many croissants in the US- these are melt in your mouth French pastries everyone should experience 😊 The service was excellent, line moved swiftly and tables cleaned promptly. We enjoyed chatting with Sylvan (spelling?) All of their ingredients were extremely fresh and tasty. We plan to return here whenever we come to Charlotte again.

Outstanding French Patisserie

What a fantastic spot for pastries! Friends and I happened upon this spot about mid morning on a Monday. The coffee was fresh and hot, and the staff were pleasant. I had a pumpkin croissant that was exceptional. It wasn’t that horrid corporate pumpkin spice tat being thrown on everything. The fresh pumpkin filing was was mellow and wrapped in the flaky buttery goodness of the croissant layers. The toasted pepitas on top with powdered sugar added a lovely crunch. The chocolate almond croissant was sublime. Perfect layers of chocolate and almond paste. Absolutely everything in the pastry case is made on site. You can see Monsieur le Chef through the glass working surrounded by the commis. The kitchen itself was spotless. The bathrooms were beautiful and immaculate.

Friday breakfast

Eggs are exclusive to breakfast in Charlotte, NC. Cereal, bread, pancakes, yogurt fruits or gourmand eggs. Why not at a French bakery… The power omelette was made perfectly just for me. Three eggs with tomatoes, herb & swiss. Incredibly light and fluffy. They offered on an alacarte basis pomme frites, soup or salad. I’m great with just the omelette & coffee. Plenty great pastries. And I must stick to being anti-inflammatory. Macaroons are made with almonds. Let me get some to go… Wonderful breakfast experience at a beautiful french bakery. Loved it!

Expectations vs. Reality

Expectations were far greater than reality. The desserts and pastries were very good but the lunch (four of us) was below average for money spent. Soup was tepid, paella was very dry and tasted like it was not made fresh each day. Sandwiches were just average. Quiche was ok but not great. This was our second visit, the first for dessert last year. I would highly recommend sticking to the dessert items and eat lunch elsewhere. Our bill was over one hundred dollars and all four of us were disappointed. Service was good and they had plenty of customers on a Saturday but most people appeared to be eating something from the dessert case, which had a great selection.

Good breakfast terrible coffee

We had a wonderful breakfast croissant, two lousey coffees (and we are coffee lovers), and it was all a bit too pricey for what it is. The place is clean and bright, the staff are kind, the displays are to die for. At the end of the day was it worth the $45 (two croissants and two coffees)...BEFORE TIP...nah. So, maybe I would go again to try a baked treat, but...maybe not

Quite disappointed

Went to Renaissance Patisserie, at specialty shops in south park Charlotte NC on Wednesday 26, 2022, with my family. I was greatly disappointed with my french desert and cup of coffee. The cake was actually old and dry with no flavor whatsoever. The coffee was old and cold as well. I do not recommend this place at all. Thank you.

Best Croissant in Charlotte

Tried Cafe Monte and Amelies, but neither could top Renaissance. Literally, EVERY morning they were open, we had a croissant. My wife had an almond croissant and loved it too. But, this time they had warm beigniett that I ate while they were making our lattes. You have got to try them they are like a puff croissant with sugar.

Amazing and elegant.

Their version of a king cake is amazing and elegant. I grew up in New Orleans and have enjoyed hundreds of king cakes over the years. Not a traditional version but the best I have ever had. The textures, taste and artistry are wonderful.

I was hungover as hell coming in here and left in a better mood. I ordered coffee and they delivered everything on a silver tray . .. the stuff here is better than the ritz carlton charlotte . I am a sommelier and can vouch that this is one of the only authentic themed food venues in the city. The location is as good as you can get. The crowd is equally good. The pastries are the best in the city. Aside from that the place has an uplifting/bubbly social energy .

This French bakery is a delicious surprise next to the Marriott hotel in Southpark. The pastries are mouthwatering, strongly recommend the lemon target, carrot muffin, and kouign-amman. They have lovely outdoor French cafe tables and you can watch them make their creations inside.

No more travelling to France for pastries!

This authentic French patisserie is a treasure! Every classic pastry is available, macrons, St Honore's, Opera cake, etc. etc. beautifully crafted with great ingredients and great skill. You can taste the love of the pastry chef in every bite. Flaky pastry was just melt in the mouth and the flavors subtle and perfect. Yes, I'm gushing but they are so good!!!! Take a friend for a coffee and a pastry immediately! Charlottes gem!

Fantastique!!

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday and sooo happy we did. We had gourmet grilled cheese, tomato soup and best fries. The staff was so delightful and helpful. The food tasted fresh, scratch made and delicious. What a great value and delicious lunch. On our list for future visits for sure. We left with some pastries to share with friends. We highly recommend this new edition to the Morrison shops across SouthPark Mall. Great good, great service and great value. Stop by for a coffee, desert or meal - we loved it!!
