Met my friend for Lunch at this Venezuelan diner that I have been wanting to try. The place is bright, super clean, and the food was amazing. I had an arepa stuffed with shredded chicken and mozzarella cheese with a green spicy sauce, fried plantains,...rice and beans and everything was delicious. The owner was helpful with ordering and answering questions. I definitely will be back!More

I lived in Venezuela for a time and this was just awesome to have these again. I do prefer them to be deep fried as I like that crisp crunch of the arepa but these were still good. Their hours of operation seem to cater...to lunch so keep that in mind if you are planning on visiting. We have missed out at other times because we wanted to head there for supper but they had closed too early. We would totally go there again.More

We saw their sign and said let's try it . . . what a great surprise! The food was all fresh and great. Being new to the experience, they gave us samples of different pieces and explained the combinations of food. It was all great....We will drive across town to enjoy their food again.More

Wonderful little restaurant off Woodlawn and Old Pineville near the Woodlawn CAT stop. GREAT food. The Arepas are authentic though BIGGER than any I have ever gotten in Latin America. Pelua is beef with cheese. An arepa is a corn-based bread filled with the toppings...of your choice. They also have great breakfasts and bakery items. I don't know what they are called but there are caramel or apple turnovers and some of the rolls are so sweet they are like dessert! Also juices and south american sodas. The owner is a sweet and wonderfully nice lady who always greets me when I stop in. Check them out for a great lunch!More

We were looking for a name-brand restaurant and stumbled into this one. I loved the ambiance. I had never been to a Venezuelan restaurant and it was a good experience for me. I liked my food, my partner loved hers.

Went there on the recommendation of a friend - got the Reina Pepeada Arepas - which is a fantastic combination of chicken, avocado, cilantro and mayo on bread that's not bread :) Corn, i think. It was super flavorful!!! It comes with hot sauce on...the side took it next level delicious. The owner was super helpful as it was our first time and let us taste test the chicken before selecting it. She also suggested we could add beans as a side (or not as the sandwich is quite filling). I got a side of black beans, my friend got a side of red beans, another option was fried plantains. It does take a while for the sandwiches to come out - about 25 minutes after we ordered, but we demolished them in less than 10 minutes, so all told a good visit.More

I went there with high expectations for lunch, but I wasn't impressed with what I found. On the plus side: the place is clean and the menu offers a variety of Venezuelan and Colombian plates and drinks, there is a fair amount of options, service...is fast and they also sell beer. On the low side: the prices are too high for arepas. The plates and utensils are plastic. They charge the tip at the moment of ordering not at the end. I wasn't impressed with my plate, I ordered the special of the day: Chicken and rice (arroz con pollo) which I found was pre made and reheated, you would think the specials are fresh, but the center of the rice pile was cold. I'm willing to give them a second chance, there is room for improvement.More

When you get an $18 lunch, one should at least expect to get utensils and a plate (not a plastic spoon & a French fries basket). Also, the mixed arepa wasn't mixed...one had to add extra to it - otherwise it would have been too...much of the same ingredient. Pretty disappointing! I can do way better elsewhere for a decent lunch!More
