My family has been eating here since the 1950's and you can't get much better then this place. The Onion Rings can't be beat. The must tries are the Fried Chicken, Fried Trout, Onion Rings, the Super Boy, the Jumbo Cheeseburger and the Hot Dogs.

Where do i star...i was excited to visit agter seeing Guy Fieri visit but i dont know what he was thinking... i got the super boy with fries and onion rings. The burger was bland, McDonads is better as well as the fries. Onion rings were ok, if you dont mind them tasting like seafood from sharing the frier with... More

My husband and I came here in 1968 and it was the same, good food, scenery, and had same curbside server as we did back then! Gotta love someone that is very dedicated to his job after 61 years and still working! I love their slaw, it's the best! You can't beat a hamburger deluxe, onion rings, fish fry, and... More

I've come here since before I was born. Phenomenal onion rings, great chicken salad, and sweet tea!! A family favorite!

This particular South 21 location is definitely (as others have said) an old school experience...drive up - order via a speaker - menu posted on the speaker unit. The Southern Fried Chicken was awesome - fresh, hot - perfectly fried and served with french fries and slaw. The fries were good, the slaw a bit ho-hum however the chicken EXCELLENT.... More

I ran across South 21 while looking on the internet. It looked interesting and so we decided to give it a try, since it was in town. We were hoping for a curb service, but this one did not have one. So we went in and you get in line and make your order from a menu on the wall.... More

Food is great.. Service is extremely slow. Servers not friendly at all. Too bad you have to deal with it to get the good food .

This place has old school drive in appeal that wont disappoint. Not the best burger in Charlotte but definetly worth a visit. Always have good food for good price.

Classic food you have already fallen in love with. My first visit was souly based on that Guy from Diners-DriveIns-& Dives came here and it was a stop for every location in North Carolina. I got the cheeseburger with onion rings and it was good as expected. Going back to Charlotte in a month and I'll defiantly be stopping by.

From the down home drive-in menu, to ordering over vintage, sputtering speakers, to the car hop nattily attired and topped-off with a pork pie hat. It was like a "blast from the past" experience. The food? Well, in the day it was doubtless unique. Today it is simply OK. Onion rings were memorable, the fries not so much. The double... More
