Out of state trip to Charlotte, this place was such a surprise but was so fantastic. We needed a quick “hold-me-over” until a late dinner and we all got wraps which we very much enjoyed. They were quick service! And the house made chips were fantastic. Our waiter Grant was such a pleasure. Funny, fast, and very good at his job. He made the meal. Another surprise was the gelato bar. It was fabulous! Would stop again!

Nice variety on the menu and reasonable prices. Consistently good food and friendly service. Like the ambiance of the patio area out back.

We went for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was not crowded. The waiter did not know what a Copper was when my husband selected it from the menu. Our food was ok- nothing great. The service was terrible. We had to wave down our waiter who spent a long time talking to people at another table. We waited an incredibly long time for our check as did another couple across from us. The staff was totally indifferent to the patrons waiting to pay and leave. Don't waste your time going here as there are so many better places in Charlotte.

I’ve had dinner here a few times, but we keep coming back for the Gelato in particular.
The Greek salad with chicken is good, but the Gelato is a must have. There are so many different flavors & you can sample as many as you like! Their portion sizes & prices are by far the best in town.
The Gelato cafe is located inside the restaurant. They have a very nice patio in the back to eat your dessert on a warm day.
This restaurant is located in the arboretum shopping center.

After having GPS issues instead of taking 30 minutes instead 10, arrived at 8:00 last Saturday nite, and place was closed. Checked hours and they should have been. If you are going I'd advise calling ahead.

This is a nice venue in a large shopping center with plenty of restaurants. We looked for a place for lunch and their menu was in the window. We liked what we saw and were greeted with warm courtesy. I had a delicious Philly Cheesesteak with wonderful fries. My wife had a perfectly prepared pizza, one of the best we have had in the Charlotte area. We hope to revisit the place to try their Greek salads and sandwiches. The service was a bit slow but it was worth it to get the food so fresh and well prepared. Besides, we were there well after lunch time. There are plenty of TVs and the management is more than willing to tune to a preferred channel.

The food was quite good but no better than a lot of other nearby places.
We were there as a small group of older, retired guys who meet every week for lunch usually somewhere that offers senior or discount coupons - which this restaurant does. Once the individual bills were submitted our server told us that they could not accept more than one coupon per table, and that even though we were all paying separately there would be a mandatory 20% gratuity added to all the bills.
One of our party was unhappy with his meal, and wanted not to pay the gratuity - resulting in a lecture from our server about how hard it was for waiters to make a living, and ending up in an invitation to come out and fight on the pavement outside....
NEVER, EVER has that happened anywhere else, we were then told never to come there again by a server named "Elliot".
Elliott certainly ensured that no-one we know will ever voluntarily go there again.
It is a shame how one man's total lack of any customer service manners could perhaps sink a restaurants reputation - but I could not let this pass without comment.

Once a week my buddies and I get together for lunch. We are all retired "old men" and we choose a different place every week. Today we chose Bella Fresco,in the Arboretum in Charlotte, NC. The place was fairly empty and the only person on staff was a fellow named Elliott who was the Host and waiter. We all had sandwiches and a beverage and unfortunately those of us that had a "wrap" found the sandwich to be poorly made. The tortilla was very dry and broke apart as you held it in your hand. We let it go, didn't make an issue over it and ate our lunch. When it came time to settle up, the waiter refused to honor our lunch coupons, saying " if we always accepted coupons we wouldn't be in business". He then proceeded to charge us a 20% gratuity on each bill. One of our members shorted his bill by $0.25 and when confronted by the waiter expressed frustration with the poor quality of the food and a 20% gratuity. The waiter Elliott became enraged, calling our friend an obscenity and then challenged him to a Fight in the parking lot say " I will kick your a-- old man so come on". Needless to say we packed up our things and left but not before we decided as a group to never return here again and to tell everyone we know about this. The waiter threatened bodily harm to our friend over a quarter ? Unbelievable.

We had dinner at the Arboretum location. I had read other reviews on this restaurant however for some reviews it was hard to determine which location had been visited.
We arrived about 6 pm on a Sunday and there were only a few tables taken. The hostess/waitress greeted us at the door and started to take us to a table inside. I had read a review that mentioned the back patio so I asked if we could sit on the patio. The waitress then started to lead us back outside to a couple of tables that overlooked the parking lot. It was only after I asked if there was a back patio that the waitress gave us that option - so odd; the back patio was splendid and the best part of the visit. It overlooks a lake, has comfortable seating and was virtually empty when we arrived.
When we were walking towards the back door we saw a wine display set out near the counter; since we were planning on ordering wine we stopped to peruse the options. The counter server gave us a wine list and told us that all of the wines they sold were not on display and some that were on display were not on the wine list. I don't know how we would have figured any of that out if we had not stopped to view the display.
The menu is eclectic; some Mediterranean, some Italian, some seafood. Everything was delicious. It was several months ago that we dined there so I don't recall exactly what we ate but I do recall that we had appetizers, entrees, and dessert (in addition to a bottle of wine) and everything we ordered was presented well and delicious.
There are so many positives about Bella Fresco but so many inconsistencies -- management needs to address the inconsistencies for the restaurant to truly reach its potential.

On the heart of uptown Charlotte I found a gem, food is delicious and the atmosphere is very chic. I will definitely come back !

Tried for first time and was pleased with the restaurant, the food and the staff. Nothing fancy, but great place for a very casual dinner. They also serve breakfast all day! Our pizza (and it was 1/2 price night!) was hot, fresh, and very tasty. Will definitely try again.

My girlfriend and I visited last night for restaurant week. The service was very good. The saganaki was excellent. The bruschetta was awful. It had way too much mushroom, olive, and balsamic. Plus the bread it was served on was soft. Main courses were better. Her mushroom risotto was good, and my seafood pasta was ok. My pasta was very spicy and I liked it fine, but it was a surprise because neither the menu or waiter mentioned anything about it. Deserts were good, but mostly a lot of gelato. All in all I came away a bit underwhelmed and will probably go somewhere else next time.
