We have been customers for while even before covid. We recently realized and were informed that the Owner only see how much money you spend. We ordered jumbo wings as we have before but this time togo. I picked them up after 1pm , they...looked a lot darker than usual and the grease smell was strong. I got home to call and they were closed., I called the next morning, I spoke to Owner and told him I felt the grease needed to be changed and he was very argumentative, I told him I could not eat because of grease and that we were regular customers and he told me we were Saturday customers , we spend anywhere from $28 to $58 each time but I guess not enough for him. We have seen him argue with customers I and employees more than once. Please he should be thankful to be open and not see $ signs. We work hard for our money and should expect our food to be correct each time.More

Second time here and rapidly becoming a favorite. We first came about 3 weeks ago for lunch. Relatively small and not well marked so finding it can be a challenge but worth it. One of those infrequesnt Hole in the Wall Gems. First time we...went, we walked in and despite being mobed, we were promptly seated. Very well managed restaurant. The turn the tables quickly. Our server was there quickly and when I ordered unsweetened tea with lemon, she stated they do not have lemon but suggested an :Arnold Palmer. Good Comprimise. My wife ordered the Roast Beef for lunch and I had the Pork Chops. Came with a Vegetable Beef complimentary soup that was so good, I tried to we stopped at the grocery store to buy ingredients so I could duplicate it at home. I'm pretty good in the kitchen but I did not even come close Today we went back and this time we tried the Italian side of the menu. We have a thriving Greek Community in Charlotte and many of the early immigrants went into the restaurant industry. Restaurants they opened had either Italian or Southern Comfort Food formats which is a shame because I love Greek Cuisine. Of course we started with the Vegetable Beef Soup which was still great and I recommend to anyone because of the depth of flavor. My wife orderedt he Veal Parmesean for her entre along with Corn and Apple Cobbler. Not crazy about the Corm but loved everything else. I had the Lasagna with a House Salad and Fried Okra for my lunch. Salad was excellent and they do not skimp on the seasonal extras such a tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. Very good. The Okra was excellent but the Lasagna did not meet my expectations. Did not have the bold rich taste that Garfield loved and on the whole was rather bland. Not bad but did not stand out either. Still a favorite however. Service is great and I will admit it's a bit noisy and parking is limited but still a place that you need to try.More

I have breakfast about 3 times a month at The Sunflower. The wait staff if pretty friendly and prompt. I have never had my drink glass go empty while dinning in. You get your order pretty promptly after you order and the is pretty consistent....I definitely recommend it.More

A group of us recently visited the Sunflower and each of us really enjoyed our food. Everything is freshly made, the pastries are wonderful, and the place is very clean. We each had different breakfast sandwiches and pastry and each was excellent. I took half...of everything with me and ate it for lunch. Looking forward to a return trip.More

I'm a local resident and had never ate here before :) Shame on me should have came a long time ago. Service was great as well as the food. Very small parking lot and if you like a small cozy diner experience this is truly...the place to go. Can't wait until our next visit. Worth the cross town drive.More

I had a horrible and totally unexpected experience today at this restaurant with my daughter. The manger Dora was very rude. Upon paying for my food I advised the manger that my daughter had spilled her milk and ask if she could replace my daughter...to go cup of milk. The manger said since you are no longer at the table we cannot replace it. I advise it was just given to her in a to go cup from your waitresse. The manger still refused to replace my daughter milk as I was proceeding to pay for our meal which was a total of $31. As the waitress started to clean up the table she said " oh her milk spilled let me run and get your daughter another one". The manger Dora heard the waitress and said " no they have gotten up from the table no need to replace her milk". After experiencing this rude customer service experience from the manger Dora this will be the last time I will be patronizing this restaurant.More

Today my wife took me to sunflower restaurant, for the second time, since I've moved here, to Charlotte. I have to say, if you are looking for good down home cooking. The food is excellent, and the staff is, professional. Once your order is taken,...your food comes out fast. I've have to give, the chef, or chefs, twoo thumbs up. If you are visiting the area, must eat here. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. To all of the staff, keep up the good work. AA++More

We were on our way to a nearby Starbucks but ended up here for the ease of parking. We both had the egg, cheddar and avocado on sourdough with a great cup of coffee. Would recommend and wish we lived in Charlotte to make this...a regular stop in our week.More

Sunflower has become a sta0le in Nevin neighborhood area. It's a small, quaint, cozy restaurant with a small town friendly feel. My family and I have been there multiple times. There breakfast can't be beaten for the price. It is family owner and operated and...it feels like home. The owners are the sweetest Greek family ever. There are nods to their culture in the menu and the decor. Perfect cross of country diner cuisine with a Greek flair. My favorite meal os the fish and grits. Reminds me of my grandparents every time i have it. The fish is perfectly fried. They have options of croaker, whiting, tilapia and one more I cant remember. The protions are great. My kids are big fans of the apple sticks. If you want an inexpensive and fast diner meal and friendly service, its a great place.More
