Small and unassuming treasure!!

Left feeling like I needed a wheelbarrow to get me to the car I was so full. The food was DELICIOUS and we were not leaving anything on those plates!! We had the quesadillas (chicken) and fajitas (shrimp). They come will all the accoutrement you need: sour cream, guacamole, pico, refried beans, sautéed onions and peppers. Big portions and so flavourful. They brought out warm tortilla chips with their house made salsa.... again delicious!! Our service was wonderful!

TikTok Made Us Try It

We have seen a lot of TikTok's about Maria's so we decided to try it for ourselves. It had both good and bad dishes. The birria tacos were the best thing that we had. The meat was so tender it just fell apart and the dip was excellent. The chicken nachos were good and way too much for one person. The steak and shrimp tacos were above average. We did get some sort of mixed dish with a taco, tostada, cheese enchilada and something else that was not very good at all. The refried beans were top notch and the salsa was way better than your average Mexican restaurant. If you go, stick with anything birria and you will be OK.

The food was really good. Came in town to visit and wanted to some Mexican food, best that I have had in a while. I will definitely be back. Kellita was our server and she was lovely, knew the menu very well and helped us decide what to eat.

First and last visit

Went to try this small place for the first time and they are very unprofessional. All you heard was the waiters yelling at each other and complaining about their customers not tipping and every time someone came in they had an attitude. It was so uncomfortable eating and having them argue with each other their tables weren’t leaving tip. Maybe you should look at your attitude and the environment you are giving your customers. Food could have been better. Nothing had any taste to it; lacked a lot of flavor. Won’t be going back for sure and the prices were ridiculous for how bad it was.

The food was good, came due to TT videos etc. loved the decor and feel, I gave a 3 due to the customer service. I let it roll off my shoulder, but honestly the staff wasn’t friendly & not welcoming at all.

A Great Surprise!!

We've been in Charlotte for 13 days and needed a Mexican food fix. Being from Texas, we've got everything from Tex Mex to authentic Mexican. We were a little worried! I had a birria taco and the hubs had a Mexican Ramen dish with beef and mushrooms. Everything was delish! The ramen had a hard boiled egg in it, just YUM. The flavors were unique and the service was super friendly. We'll go back!

TIkTok Sensation

Of course I stopped in for the TIkTok tacos! I can't lie they are highly recommended! I ordered 3 and could barely finish the first one. They're totally stuffed with meat and cheese and the broth/sauce to dip them in is pure genius! Believe the hype!!!

The place is cute. We received a big bowl of chips and decent tangy salsa. The fajita salad looked good, but had no flavor. The grilled chicken was very fatty. I was disappointed, expecting something authentically delicious. I might go back and try the vegetarian options. Lunch specials are a good price.

Maria's never fails me. Great meals that aren't too expensive, potent margaritas that are. Meh, it's a trade-off, but once they get to know you, you're part of the family (I get a hug every time my favorite server sees me). Get to Maria's and become part of the family.

Really tasty food and friendly waitress!

Yum. It was kind of like home-cooked Mexican food served by your favorite aunt. Everything we had was really tasty and the waitress was kind about speaking Spanish with us and talking slow enough so we could do it.

The food is always very good at Maria's. There are daily specials that are well worth trying. The fajitas are a must!! The service is always excellent too!

Wonderful food, friendly service

My spouse and I like to come here when we're in the area and in the mood for Mexican food. We both love the queso and it is some of the best served in the area. The parking lot is a bit small but I have never seen it full. The interior is also small and outdated, but clean. The staff is friendly and greets you at the door and service is fast. I have tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed -- or left unsatisfied! Although not advertised, there is a full bar available and they now deliver via DoorDash.

Nice place, good food

We happened up on Maria's because it was close to the office. Right away a nice lady showed us tour seats and we had our drinks and chips and salsa before we knew it. Everything was fresh and hot when brought to the table and I never saw the vote of my glass of sweet tea. I have eaten here twice in the las week and it was very good both times. Food, service and prices were all very good. But just a side note that may not mean anything to a lot of people but I wash my hands before I eat and that mean a trip to the bathroom. The men's room here is very very clean, I was impressed. Maybe it has just been redone or maybe they just like clean bathrooms. Enough about that. Eat at Maria's!

Cheap real mexican

So this is an old drive in burger place turned into a Mexi restaurant. It was convenient and recommended so we tried it for dinner. On Vegan, carnivores. We all loved the food, they were very careful to fix want we wanted, obviously no prepared foods. I had Carnitas and it was so good. Son had burrito, took half home loved it. The vegan dish was approved! Only advice, Ordered top shelf margarita, it was made with mix.
