The Chinese food here is excellent and they are generous with their portions. Get here early as parking is a problem and they get busy fast.

Hands down best Chinese in Charlotte

Love this place! When want Chinese food, this is the place to go. The food is always fresh and tastes great. The people who work here are super friendly and they keep a clean restaurant. You can dine in or take it out. Food is ready in a reasonable time.

Best Chinese in Charlotte

This is and always has been my hands down favorite chinese restaurant in Charlotte. Excellent, consistent and fairly priced. I have eaten here for years. Recommend it to anyone looking for great tasting, quick take out, or enjoy dining there (though not really a great atmosphere).

Don't Waste Your Money

Perhaps it was an off night--or maybe it's normal---this was the WORSE Chinese food I have ever had! The hot and sour soup was flavorless, the steamed dumplings were sticky/gummy (also lacking any flavor) and the sauce was straight soy sauce--blah. I also ordered chicken and broccoli which was so greasy I couldn't even finish eating it. I threw it all directly in the trash.

This is the best fast Chinese in Charlotte

With an open kitchen and a completely unpretentious setup, Taipei Express serves up the best fast Chinese in the entire city. General Tso's Chicken has a unique, perfect flavor. Be careful - everything is hot out of the wok. Portions are typically enough for two.

Consistently good food. Counter help can be spotty.

I like their food very much. It is likely the best Chinese food I have had in Charlotte. At least one lady at the counter has either got a chip on her should or simply does not like the customers. She is brusque and condescending. Unfortunately the younger ones are learning from her. The guy at the counter is great. Polite and fast. The chefs are mainly Latino and are fast and very good. The place is like a factory the way they put the food out.

This restaurant is spot-on for a quick takeaway decent meal. I've been several times and the quality and quantity of food is excellent.

Bad bad customer service ... Gr8 food

The food at this place is excellent.. But the customer service is really bad... The lady at the counter is really rude and a lazy bone ... After finishing the lunch we were heading out and my kid had left a water cup on the table and she called us and she ordered us to throw the cup in trash.. Her behavior is too rude and stingy.. This is not the way she treats customers.. And if You ask for some chilli sauce she hesitates and says it would b charged ..: really bad bad behavior by this lady in particular .. I would definately come back for the delicious food but because of the bad service I'm hesitant..

Best food but lacks customer service.

This place has very good Chinese food, but lacks customer service. The lady at the counter is very rude.I asked for extra chili sauce, she was reluctant to give it. Don't expect good service at this place.

Good food, don't eat in!

We were visiting Charlotte for our anniversary and chose Taipei Express after we got lost looking for another restaurant. We decided to eat in after seeing a small eat in area. We ordered and had to seat ourselves. We were given our food in takeout boxes and styrofoam plates. My husband had to get tea from a pitcher on the checkout counter. No service at all. But the food was excellent! Probably the one of the best, if not the best Asian food I've had since I can remember. We took an order of vegetable fried rice back to the hotel and feasted on it later that night. I highly recommend this restaurant but for take out only. I would have given it a 5 rating otherwise.

Taipei Express is a great place for Chinese take-out. They have dine-in as an option also. It is always fresh and prepared fast. The portions are hearty and the cost is reasonable. I go at least once a week for lunch and dinner and would go multiple times for both if I didn't stop myself from heading in that direction. The Spicy Scallion Chicken is excellent (I get it "not spicy") and the beef and broccoli is a traditional staple. Give it a try, you'll go back again, and again.

We use this excellent Chinese place for takeout exclusively, and it is very good. If you like chicken,be sure to specify white meat only (if thats what you want). Try the chicken with garlic sauce and/or chicken with black bean sauce. The spring rolls and the Hot and Sour soup, especially good on a cold winter day.

Excellent food at an excellent price. Try the hunan beef. They do close for about an hour (approx 3pm) before starting up for dinner.
