Try the seafood soup, however the soup broth is average, generous amounts of seafood. Chip: average. Dip: thick with regrettable unexpected flavor.. tea was decent.

Peeps from UNCC have been going here for 8 years now. The bathroom still smells like sewage. What can I tell ya'll...it is downhill from a huge unplanned university. They are always pleasant and we still go there to have beers..some people eat there. I don't but I like the staff, they areaways happy and attentive. Pretend you are going... More

They literally put garbage on the plate for salad. The tomatoes were rotten and reeked of bad smell. Left and never went back.

Ordered #16. Tomato and guac were spoiled to the point that you could smell it. Asked for a new plate. Brought us the same guac and no tomato! How can a chef not taste the food or know if it has gone bad? I used to like this place, I don't believe I'll come here again.

This restaurant serves very traditional American style Mexican food. I did find their sangria to be tasty and their Monterrey cheese dip, which comes with pico and ground beef is very good. Prices are reasonable. Great "no frills" Mexican food restaurant.

We go to Monterrey's every time we visit Charlotte. We have never been disappointed with the food or service. We are both vegetarian and there's plenty of choices for us. Highly recommended!

My friends and coworkers come here sometimes after work. It's decent Mexican if you are in the university area. My favorite is the carne asada tacos. Their cocktails and margaritas are weak and overpriced in my opinion. Tip: Look for discounts on the back of your Harris Teeter receipts and sometimes Groupon.

I have been eating here occasionally for a few years. In that time, i have seen an overall decline. The lunch special is no longer a special, more like a daily menu promotion. There has been a tremendous turnover in personnel, meaning the server is often less experienced. If you only want a decent meal this is the place. If... More

I love the Monterrey in Chapel Hill, but not this one in Charlotte. Everything there is just average, and I've been there twice just to make sure I was not having a bad first impression. The problem with too many Mexican restaurants is that you will always find a better one.
