Title says it all. Food was good but nothing special. The service was interesting--the waitress didn't know the answer to our questions and they brought our main meal only 3 minutes after we got our appetizer, so we didn't even have time to finish that. Great drinks and drink choices and amazing dessert though! That's the highlight!

Had heard from friends that it was outstanding, found it ordinary at best. Fries were straight from the freezer bag into the deep fryer, burgers were ok but definitely not above average. Tables feel, worn and old, needs updating.

We ate there Friday night. The dining area was booked but we grabbed a booth in the bar. Just my wife and me. I had the shrimp/scallops/lobster and grits. Got it without sausage as I do not like sausage. I think they gave me some extra fish which was nice. Overall, it was pretty good. My wife had the veggie... More

In our search for the best rare burger my husband & I have visited many local restaurants. I ordered the Lamb burger and my husband had the Pub burger. The burgers were cooked perfectly rare. We would have rated the Liberty the highest except that the tomatoes slices on my husband burger did not have the stem removed.

Brought BF there for first time. We enjoyed our meal and beers very much. Everything tasted great. Wish their beer selection was broader and included more local breweries. The triple I had was great so very happy. BF struggled with burger and made a mess...too big for human hands and human size mouth. You have to use fork and knife.... More

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Liberty. Two of us got the salmon with farro, and another got the fish and chips. The chips were especially tasty, with salt, parsley, and just the right amount of rosemary. The fish was fine but we would have preferred cod to the talapia. The salmon was great and the farro and its... More

This edition of Excited about Eating takes us to The Liberty, advertised as "Charlotte's First Gastropub" in the South End of Charlotte. The Liberty's interior is well lit and modern, and their food elevates pub fare to another level. Dora here. The interior was nice and roomy, but check out their patio. Beautiful! Too bad it was a bit chilly... More

We came with a group of 30+. Youth soccer team and parents. They took good care of us and were very helpful. Food was good and reasonably priced. I would go back for sure.

We eventually were served our food which was fine. It took over an hour. The service was very poor. The server had to be asked to serve us water and even to bring salt and pepper. He brought our bill without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. Parking is also a real problem. It was freezing in the restaurant.... More
