Luckily for us, we stumbled upon Capishe while looking for a place to eat lunch. Super clean and modern place. The wonderful smells from the ovens fill the restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring out your food. Everything we ordered was fresh...and so delicious. The pizza was amazing as was the chicken parmiggiano sandwich (more like a calzone) with side salad and sauce. Their seared chicken salad was also fantastic. Service was very friendly and prices were great. Highly recommended!More

We went here for lunch, based on a recommendation from our son, and are glad we did. The salads are large and very tasty. The only thing I’d do differently is ask for the dressing on the side, because I wouldn’t use as much. The...Italian sandwich is also excellent. Lunch for three with drinks was only $35.More

I had a small salad and the small plate meatballs. Wow. Salad was super fresh, cheese freshly grated. My husband had the grilled chicken salad. Chicken was perfect. Great lunch. Real authentic Italian. Definitely coming back. We didn't try the gelato but it looked awesome!...Cannolli did too! You go through the cashier, they give you a number and the servers bring it to you. Open kitchen. Great seating both inside and out.More

We came to capishe after seeing the Ninja Turtles uptown at an event, so we figured the only way to cap that off was with a pizza. Capishe offers brick oven fired pizza, and it's truly done right. We ordered the one with the italian...sausage and sweet peppers (can't remember the name on the menu), but it was excellent. I believe the pizza was a tad pricey at $18 for a 15 inch, but it was enough for 2 people to split, so $9 a person isn't terrible, and the pizza was really good. The kids split a 10 inch cheese pizza for $8, so not too bad there either. I really liked capishe, and thought compared to their competition (Inizio is the first to come to mind), they are better on your wallet.More

We randomly chose this restaurant for dinner during a stopover in Charlotte. I can't say it was the best pizza i've ever had, but it was good and the service was very quick. I'd go back.

We were in Charlotte for a swim meet --- went to Capishe for a late dinner. The staff were very friendly, the food was great, the service was quick, and everyone left happy! The salad, pasta, and pizza were all very good. Highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant for dinner. It is very informal and a bit noisy. They offer pizza and several Italian dishes All are moderately priced. When you arrive, you wait on a line to place your order. Once placed and paid for, you are given...a number to place on a table. When your order is ready, your meal is delivered to your table In one corner, there is a bar to buy wine by the glass or by the bottle. They also offer beer by the bottle (12 oz for $5), or on tap (16 oz for $5). Food was decent, pizza was good, and delivered in a reasonable time frame. The atmosphere was socially open. This is not a fancy place, but is comfortable. Very enjoyable!More

I've been here 5 times. I enjoyed trip #2 and trip #3 very much. Here's my take on my five visits: #1: Both of us got pizza, but it was not very hot; in fact it was cold before I was halfway done with my...personal size pizza. Owner took care of us at bar. He is very friendly and proud of his establishment. #2: Got the pizza again. Served hot this time. It was very good. #3: Tried the pasta. It was great. Only complaint is the number of gnats flying around the bar area while we ate. Food great, environment (for the first time) disappointing. #4: Weeknight visit. Got pizza. It was burnt and pretty disgusting. #5: Weeknight visit. We both got pasta (different kinds). The pasta was incredibly undercooked for both of us. Worse on the linguine than the san lorenzo. My conclusion: After visits 2 and 3 I was telling people to go to this restaurant and try their food because it was great. Then I had those two weeknight visits and walked out feeling as though I wasted my money. The owner wants a 5-star restaurant and to serve food at fair prices. I appreciate that. But I don't want to gamble with my money (will the food be great or terrible today?). I know he is capable of serving great pizza and great pasta. However, it isn't happening with every order. I hope Capishe reads this and makes adjustments. I may give them one more shot after some time passes and hopefully they work out these problems. Meanwhile, I'm going to stop recommending them to friends because I don't want to ruin my friends' meal on my recommendation!More
