My wife and I live within walking distance of the Park Rd store, and have been frequent patrons for the past 5 years. During that time, we made 2 suggestions on numerous occasions. First, we'd like to see some vegan desserts added (has not happened)...and second, open the second cash register for "coffee only" patrons, so they don't have to wait in line for 15 minutes (not happened). So, today my friends and I met at 8:30 am for coffee. They were very busy, and the line extremely long. After more than 15 minutes, we finally arrived at the counter, and asked if we'd like anything from the dessert counter. I said no thank you, and asked if the manager is available. He was standing there. So I began "We only came in for coffee and have been in line for over 15 minutes, is there". And that's all I got out before he interrupted me, saying "There's a Starbucks around the corner. You are welcome to go there". I said "so you're telling us to go to Starbuck's for our coffee?" His response; "It is what it is. Have a nice day". This is the manager ? So, today is the last time I'll ever enter an Amelie's.More

On Sunday 7th 2022, I stopped in about 1 – 2PM to get coffee with my sister and mother who are from out of town. The line was nearly out the door and we looked at each other questioning if waiting would be worth our...time. I looked around at the fun décor and told my family Amelie’s is a Charlotte small business worth the experience. It took about twenty minutes to get to the counter which we understood given it was your opening weekend in my neighborhood. The person at the register was kind and helped us order our coffee. They explained if we want pastries, then we can pay at the end after we select them. People behind us had not ordered coffee so naturally they walked around us to order pastries. As we walked in their direction they apologized and said they weren’t sure what to do. We said it was no matter and that they should go ahead. We both stood there for several minutes while no one helped or acknowledged us even though we had already paid, our drinks were getting cold, and we had waited in line nearly half an hour. Up until this point, everything was acceptable. Next, an employee directed guests from behind all of us to select pastries. I addressed her and inquired if we could go ahead and she dismissed us that someone would be right with us. I interposed and asked to be told what the categorical difference was between them and those already in line. I asked if they had a different point of origination in the line or if there was some other significant criteria because if not I ask that we be served in order. At this point she told me to hurry up and pick something out since,” I’m making a big deal about it”. I approached the counter and said I’m not making a big deal out of it and she interrupted me and said something along the lines of,” are you going to tell me what you want or keep wasting everyone’s time?” I said since I’m wasting time let me just ask to see the manager. She replied she is the manager. I asked for her name. My sister asked if someone else can serve us and I simply walked away. Put simply, at the time I begin my transaction – I’m not wasting anyone’s time because I waited fairly like everyone else. Disneyland doesn’t rush people through rides faster because they wait in line longer. That would be absurd and bad for business. In fact, they find ways to make the wait more entertaining by putting beautiful flowers all around the guests and have themed characters visiting with children. Amelie’s is the opposite of Disneyland. There is no magic there. There are so many other places in NoDa and Greater Charlotte that will treat me with respect. Rest assured, I’ll never be back and I’ll definitely be sharing this experience with those I care about. I can’t imagine who would condone that type of communication in a manager and I hope no one else has to be subjected to that disdain and scorn.More

This venue is tucked in the lower level of the back of another store, address is deceiving, look sharp. Good food, counter service for order placing food delivered to table but drinks must be picked up. Lemonade was not sweet. Good value.

Treated very rudely. Honestly, it just looks like a lot of artificial colors anyway. When treated with disrespect, I choose to spend my money elsewhere.

Amélie’s has some great food (especially their pastries) and a fun and quirky atmosphere! Would recommend for a friendly coffee with a friend or a fun place to study.

Phenomenal French pastries with divine flavors! I adore their macarons, exactly like the ones in Paris!! The clever idea and beautiful pastries are worth every penny. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Favorite desserts include—twice baked croissants, salted caramel brownies and their eclairs!! They also make...macaron cakes that are amazing and perfect for special occasions.More

Fine Pastry but.....we ordered from their fine assortment of pastries but made a grave mistake! We ordered two sandwiches. We've ordered the same turkey/ brie there before and were delighted. This time was horrible! They were tiny, infinitesimal brie, two slices of thin cut turkey...(I think!) A total waste of money. On top of that, it took over twenty minutes from order to delivery and there were no crowds. My coffee was cold by the time they got around to making the sandwiches. When we got home, we also found the pastry clerk in her rush to move us along, screwed up our order.....We have been here multiple times but with this experience it is the last time we will go to this location....So.....have the pastry but skip the sandwiches! Or go elsewhere!More

My family stopped here for breakfast on Sunday morning. Pretty long line, courteous service, long wait for coffee, my family had already eaten their breakfast(s) by the time I got my drink. My Iced coffee was exceptional, but the $8 price tag on my Sausage...egg & Cheese croissant, wasn’t justifiable. Nice to try once, but I wouldn’t return.More

Had a very enjoyable baguette sandwich. Amelies baguette is the best. It was a terrific baguette and the sandwich was reminiscent of one in France. On a second visit we had a croissant and while it was very good, it wasn't Renaissance. However, when Renaissance...was closed this was where we had coffee and croissants. Highly recommend them.More

My daughter and I like to go out and get a cuppa coffee and the best pastries in town. It’s so hard to decide what to get since they have so many varieties of Macarons. We always bring home a dozen and have it with...hot tea as a treat. Their indoor dining room is closed due to Covid but they have outside heaters and it won’t stop us from going there. The staff all wear masks and I feel completely comfortable going out. I don’t go out very often but when I do I make sure that it’s a worthwhile trip!! I have to take pictures next time sometimes we forget because it’s just too good to wait. If you haven’t been to Amelies you are missing out. Trust me you will be back again and againMore
