I have very high expectations when bakeries will copy or recreate a common delectable from a foreign country. Well, Amelie's not only made a wonderful macoroon, they perfected it in many different flavors. The entire bakery is filled with the most wonderful treats! I recommend everyone check it out for themselves. 10 stars

Atmosphere, pastries, and oh and macaroons!! Always great to visit. Beautiful display. Great place to hang out! Try to go on off hours so the line isn't so long.

We dropped in while on a food tour. Such a cool place! We had the spinach and leek soup (fantastic) and the salted caramel brownie. Such a cool bakery.

For NODA: This is THE place for late night hangout and best pastries / sandwiches in town!! Salted brownie is my favorite and I cannot stress enough on how awesome it is! They have these beautiful antiques around that can keep group conversations going :-) A must bakery to visit in Charlotte. Note: Uptown location is HUGE and equally good,... More

Stopped in on a trip to the airport:-) What a lovely place to enjoy coffee and a delicious pastry. The atmosphere and decor are amazing! photos, hangings and souvenirs from France and Paris, could make you feel like you were visiting Europe:-) The macaroons were packed with flavor! Heavier than some BUT delicious and enjoyable with a double espresso. The... More

We stopped by at 8:30PM on our way to eat dinner. The pastries and desserts in the cases at Amalie's looked to good to resist so we bought three of them. They were all delicious and very reasonably priced. The place has a nice food court vibe to it - very comfortable and friendly. All of the workers who helped... More

Corny faux Louis XIV decor and French quotations. But decor aside, the baked goods and coffee are excellent. They have another location downtown. But the original location in NoDa hhas character and spunk.

Absolutely the BEST desert place I've been to in many years... so many options for anyone - chocolates, vanillas, tarts, pies, could go on for awhile. Seating on "left side" was warmish due to hotness of day but I bet it's usually a nice place to sit and use the free wi-fi
