Stopped in for lunch and it was great. The service was fantastic but the burger was amazing! I liked sitting on the 2nd floor and looking outside at the campus and people. Would go back next time I'm in town.

Came in for dinner and they were swamped. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The service was lacking. It wasn't due to our server not trying they were just understaffed. It was the summer and school was out, that may have been the reason. I would give them another chance if we were back in... More

We recently enjoyed a family meal at Spanky's. The server quickly rearranged tables and chairs to accommodate our group of 6. The menu included a variety of options, including a huge portion of mac and cheese from the children's menu for our youngest. The grilled veggie gyro was delicious, as was the house specialty citrus-ade. I would definitely return.

This restaurant is good for a quick meal before a concert or game on campus and has full menu. One can have a snack, enjoy a beer or the menu has full dinners

I met a friend here because I heard it was an awesome restaurant. I was extremely disappointed with the service. I believe we saw the water to order our drinks, food, and had to chase him down to pay the bill or get drink refills. simply terrible. Food was okay, nothing spectacular but not terrible either.

Spanky's used to be a pleasant place to grab a bite in downtown Chapel Hill. The food was better than OK. Recently, however, they have remade themselves as a "Southern barbecue" place. This was a seriously bad idea. First of all, they're in North Carolina, a place with a proud and distinctive barbecue tradition, but they ignore it completely, offering... More

One of our favorite spots when we visit. Fantastic burgers and a great selection of local brews. An institution that hopefully will survive for many more years.

Nice food and good beers with very good attentive service. We ate upstairs in a big group and staff couldn't be more helpful.

My husband and I tend to go to Spanky's whenever we are in Chapel Hill for lunch. A Chapel Hill institution, they have great burgers and sandwiches and if you get lucky to sit near the window you can people watch those walking down Franklin Street. Recommeded for lunch.

Ate dinner at Spanky's last night and it was soooo disappointing. We started off with an amazing appetizer "veggie nachos"" and it was delicious but then it all quickly slid downhill will the entrées. I had a BBQ platter, that consisted of sour pulled pork and gummy over cooked corn bread the other entree was shrimp and grits and the... More
