As repeat customers at THE PIG, my buddy and I got a pork cheek sandwich with pickles and several sides: fried okra, hushpuppies, Brussel sprouts. The cheek sandwich was a mess, but in a good way- strips of meat kept falling out of the bun, taking jalapenos and cilantro with them. The meat was unctuous and flavourful and very, very... More

Stopped in for lunch yesterday by chance and are so glad we did. With a name like "The Pig" how could you go wrong! This is a little place with seating in and outside. The aroma coming from the kitchen is a version of heaven smokey and sweet. They have a regular menu but specials up on a chalkboard. My... More

I ate at the Pig yesterday on at least my 8th or 9th visit for lunch; sadly, as much as I don't want to , I have to give it a low two stars. I appreciate that they are a strange niche BBQ with a menu unlike what you will see at other places and I want to like it,... More

First and foremost, the BBQ--which I would give a 4 on its own. It was solid, with a mild smokey flavor and a nice touch of vinegar (with more on the table). Being born and raised in Eastern NC, and while it is good, it would not crack my top 5 (Skylight Inn/Sam Jones; B's; Wilbur's; Moore's (Original one in... More

This is a basic spot - you order then they bring your meal to the table you chose. You bus your dishes. I had the basic pulled pork BBQ sandwich, which comes with slaw on top and with a side of pickles. We shared hush puppies and okra. If/when I go back I think I would just get the pork... More

Some colleagues and I ate at the Pig. Sampled most of the food on the menu. Really enjoyed the brisket. Staff was friendly and helpfully made suggestions on what to order. Brought us some complimentary summer sausage.

Nice little find, if you like barbecue. They have good country vegatables and a variety of barbeque-esce plates. I tried the Beef Tongue Rueben. It was delicious. I didn't care for the fried green tomatoes, but that may just be a personal preference. You have to order food at the register. That is fine unless you want to sit at... More

We had a lovely dinner here on our last night in Chapel Hill. We sat outside and enjoyed some real southern barbecue dishes (pork, chicken and tempeh) which were all very tasty, as were the fries. Beer was good as well, would definitely return on our next visit.

I've eaten here a few times now so I feel it's time to post a review. Everything I've ordered off the menu has been delicious. I've tried the brisket, rib tips, and of course their BBQ. The sides are on par with the meats, especially the mac n cheese and their amazing house made pickles. This kitchen likes to use... More

We were looking for a bbq joint, surprised that there are not many around. We found this place on Yelp, it was fairly close to where we were staying. It is a small place seats around 30. Had the brisket and pulled pork. It was very good. The staff were friendly.
