This Restaurant is in the Carolina Inn. It has recently been transformed from an elegant southern dining room to a noisy cafeteria like environment. The food is still very good!

We came here for lunch as a recommendation from the UNC visitor center. The Inn itself has a lot of pictures from it's early days along with the area during the early days of UNC, which was very informative. The restaurant had very nice and good lunch options along with a very nice atmosphere and service. Highly recommend coming here... More

The Crossroads has the feel of a great restaurant in a fine hotel, rather than a hotel restaurant. The dinners we had were excellently prepared, and the service was cordial and hospitable. I would cheerfully dine here again when I return to Chapel Hill.

I recently had lunch at the updated Crossroads. It was my second visit after the contemporary remodeling. At first it was a shock from the traditional restaurant I have known for many years. But I found the atmosphere and menu really nice and very enjoyable. I really liked the fresh bread and olive oil that is part of the lunch... More

We are fond of the Carolina Inn and the Crossroads restaurant. However, with the recent contemporary update of the bar and restaurant, the Crossroads restaurant has lost some of original it's Southern charm. The food seemed heavily seasoned with salt, and the ambiance made it feel more like a contemporary hotel chain. OK for hotel guest to grab a bite... More

The food was terrific, creative dishes that were heavily influenced by the North Carolina area. Fried Green tomato appetizer was great. Trout dish was tasty. Beer selection was good.

This is the best place in Chapel hill to meet visiting friends from out of town. The Chef James is one of the top chefs in the region and I think he is due for a James Beard nod soon. He is the best in the city in preparing fish. I have been present when his supply comes in. He... More

My husband and I went to lunch at the Crossroads. We just moved into town and we love historic buildings so the Carolina Inn appealed to us. We were very disappointed with the lunch. The bread basket contained bread that small golf balls and when we bit into them, much to our surprise, they were spicy. I asked if there... More

When I reserved at the Crossroads, I hadn't realized that it was located in the Carolina Inn. As we arrived, and I realized that it was, my heart dropped. I was raised in the area in the 50s and 60s, and had attended dinners at the Carolina Inn on a couple of occasions as a child. My memories of the... More

This is our third (and final) visit to Carolina Inn for our final high school graduation lunch. We had our five immediate family members coming in from New Orleans and Denver, three relatives from Ohio, and a friend from Rocky Mount, NC. The restaurant has been renovated since 2013.We had good service, not rushed, but we weren't in a rush.... More
