The Waffles and Pancakes were amazing, my kids loved them. While I had the Egg Florentine. For couples it's perfect but with a family of 5 plus it will sting the wallet a bit.

Whether your interest is bacon and eggs or pancakes or waffles or all of the above, you won't find better anywhere in the Triangle. And at a very reasonable price. The staff is amazing. They seem like a family. And they treat you like family. You can face a long line at times but it's worth the wait. During the... More

I spent many exam mornings doing last minute reading in this place as a college student. I recently came back for breakfast and it's as good as ever! They have counter seating in the front and a room with tables in the back. My favorite things on the menu are Big Jim's hash browns with Texas Pete hot sauce and... More

I had very nice eggs and bacon with excellent hash browns. My wife had a delicious egg biscuit and my daughter had M&M pancakes which she enjoyed but were unbelievably sweet and very dry. Old style diner decor which I like. Staff were a bit cool and distant. I'd be back for the bacon and eggs but especially the hash... More

Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe is very similar to Waffle House, but is better in a lot of aspects! My boyfriend is British, and as soon as he walked in, he compared it to taverns in the UK. When we ordered, food came out quick and hot. The waffle was not like a Waffle House waffle, even though they looked the... More

Ye Olde Waffle Shop with Big City prices. Nestled in Chapel Hill this place is run very much like a Waffle House. Everything came out quick and our order spot-on. The bill left a bad taste in our mouths. We had: Wife: Blueberry waffle with a banana. A fried egg and order of bacon, sweet iced tea, orange juice Me:... More

Had breakfast here before the UNC vs Duke football game. Was amazed by the line to get in and even more amazed at how quickly they were turning over tables. The waffles are excellent and a must. Very nice job!

We all ordered omelettes, and they were great. Service was excellent, food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Good grits, and the grilled biscuits with honey were yummy. Good place for breakfast!

They've put a Waffle House down the street, which is good for any time after breakfast because Ye Olde Waffle Shop will be closed. But if you're eating breakfast at breakfast time, don't even think about going anywhere else. There's no comparison.

We ate at the Waffle Shop on our last morning at UNC and it is truly worth the wait for a table that you'll most likely endure. The seating area is small, so coming early is always a good plan to ensure a table when you arrive. The waffles are clearly the main attraction, and are 100% worth ordering, but... More
