We go here for lunch upon every visit to the Chapel Hill area. While the food seemed of usual quality, the service was slower than normal, which seemed odd because the restaurant appeared only about half full. Not sure why, but make sure you have enough time for lunch just in case you have the same experience.

Food here is good and service is reasonable quick. There are lots of nooks and crannies, so, while it has plentiful seating, it doesn't feel large. Love the soups and salads, but all the meals I've had here are good.

this restaurant is run by the historic store, A Southern Season. Fantastic food, nice atmosphere. A variety of interesting selections on the menu, but not so pricey that you are breaking the bank. I love their blue cheese dressing. They always cook fish well. Usually have delicious soup selections as well.

It's a very lovely place to share with friend / family / business and for a quick pick me up when you're in a hurry. Food is truly super and everyone loves their job! We always visit the Weathervane when in Chapel Hill and we've never been disappointed. Quinoa kale salad and Weathervane burger - a meal for two. Give it a try - we've only been there for lunch. And, we always sit in the bar room - NO KIDS there!

Tried an amazing grilled cheese sandwich which came with sweet potato fries for only $8 and a delicious plate of shrimp and grits. It was a nice atmosphere for good discussion and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. In all, an excellent excellent lunch.

We visited on Sunday for lunch, service was excellent and the food was very good. The restaurant was nearly full but we found we could hold a conversation without straining to hear each other. The only downside was the air conditioner was broken, they did have a temporary unit but it was struggling to handle the heat. Can't really fault... More

Great deviled eggs, I love deviled eggs and these go to another level with blue crab meat on top. Inside Southern Season, always a treat to have s good meal at lunch. I usually go after 1:00 pm but they are some time busy even than. Soups are great so I usually go for bowl of the soup and a... More

Visiting friends in the R-D-ChH area last month … The Weathervane was recommended for dinner. Although the recommendations were very positive, my experience there was very…mixed. The scenario: reservations on a weekday evening. We arrive to find a half-empty restaurant, and are greeted by a hostess who looked perfectly expressionless. After being seated, we were greeted warmly by an effervescent... More
