Tried an amazing grilled cheese sandwich which came with sweet potato fries for only $8 and a delicious plate of shrimp and grits. It was a nice atmosphere for good discussion and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. In all, an excellent excellent lunch.

We visited on Sunday for lunch, service was excellent and the food was very good. The restaurant was nearly full but we found we could hold a conversation without straining to hear each other. The only downside was the air conditioner was broken, they did have a temporary unit but it was struggling to handle the heat. Can't really fault... More

Great deviled eggs, I love deviled eggs and these go to another level with blue crab meat on top. Inside Southern Season, always a treat to have s good meal at lunch. I usually go after 1:00 pm but they are some time busy even than. Soups are great so I usually go for bowl of the soup and a... More

Visiting friends in the R-D-ChH area last month … The Weathervane was recommended for dinner. Although the recommendations were very positive, my experience there was very…mixed. The scenario: reservations on a weekday evening. We arrive to find a half-empty restaurant, and are greeted by a hostess who looked perfectly expressionless. After being seated, we were greeted warmly by an effervescent... More

This is an extension of Southern Season. The entree sizes are big. It offers a menu of choices that seem to change seasonally. We've gotten duck, lamb leg, and shrimp&grits -- all classic dishes and all tasty. The prices are also very reasonable. The ambient noise level seems lower here than elsewhere. So, I'd come here again for a quiet... More

A good friend and I have been meeting about once a month at this café/bar for the past 4 years. We choose to meet there and not at the attached restaurant because we are quite chatty and can sit there for a while without feeling that we are taking up space. We usually order the delicious salmon. It is usually... More

The weathervane cafe is part of the souther season speciality market in Chapel Hill. The market itself is a great place to visit specially if you have out of town guests visiting. The resturant has great food and service. It's a little on the pricy side but not unusual for Chapel Hill. I have been there for business meetings, friends... More

The previous visit to this restaurant was for dinner and I was not impressed by my meal. This time I went for lunch and I loved it. I sat on the patio, the service was excellent and the menu fantastic. Love my salad and the bread on the side. It was a nice lunch experience.

My husband and I are new to Durham/Raleigh, friends told us about A Southern Season was a must. We visited today and was intrigued by the Weathervane menu. We sat up at the bar which was very nice. The service was a little lacking, but the food made up for it in spades. We had the Eggs Benedict and Nicoise... More

Enjoyed a great long weekend in Chapel Hill. Breakfast at our hotel, The Siena had been great, but we decided to try a"Chapel Hill favorite, the Weathervane." We are huge fans of Sunday brunch and so were excited to try a brunch with a southern twist. Where to begin.....no words! Horrible food, worse service and no southern hospitality at all.... More
