NIce indoor and out door dining. It was a rainy day so we were nice and dry inside. I ordered the brisket sandwich with potato salad, my husband the pulled pork sandwich and fried okra. My brisket was excellent, juicy and tender. He said his pulled pork was good. Very good sauce, my potato salad was very good. He had a large pile of fried okra which was good. Their potato chips are FANTASTIC. They make them there and they are cruncy without being greasy and just the right amount of salt. Excellent and friendly service. We enjoyed our meal and would return.

The food was very good. My husband had the half chicken platter and I had thelr pulled chicken platter. With the platter you get 2 sides, which were generous portions, Texas toast, and a hush puppy. The pulled chicken had a great flavor, didn't even need BBQ sauce.

We recently ate here while vacationing at lake Glenville. My husband, a North Carolina native, was excited for some NC BBQ. I suggested this place based on the reviews and b/c it was too rainy to drive to Highlands for the smokehouses there. When we arrived, we smelled no smell whatsoever of smokehouse BBQ. Since it was one of the only restaurants open in town that evening, we stayed and ordered. The food had ZERO BBQ smoke taste. My husband ordered the chicken which looked exactly like the kind of roast or baked chicken you get at the grocery store and the BBQ sauce was on the side to dump over it. Huh? Very odd. I had a turkey and bacon sandwich which tasted fine but the turkey was also in no way smoked. I had a hush puppy side which was good as was the mac and cheese. Overall, a just OK experience. And, as one reviewer said, they weren't doing a very good job of wiping the tables down. There was one staff member (maybe owner/mgr?) there busting her butt to take care of everyone but the rest of the staff were pretty slack and indifferent. And I had to listen to my hubby pout all the way home about how we didn't get any good BBQ while back in his home state - ha.

Love the BBQ here - especially the brisket - and the sides are also phenomenal. Definitely get the smokehouse nachos. Be sure to call and order ahead, as they start to run out of meats around 5 (they do close really early at 6pm). I'd love for them to be open later, but otherwise, this place did not disappoint.

Just a little "buyer beware" I live here year round and only have eaten here twice. This last time was enough as I ordered the pork nachos to go and paid $17 for these which were only a stack of wonton chips with a few black beans sprinkled in and tons of onions, a small amount of tomatoes and even smaller amount of pork (fat at best). May have been better eaten on site but I suggest never ordering these to go or paying this ridiculous amount for nothing.

Pulled pork was flavorful and required no bbq sauce, though the sauce was good too. Fried okra was amazing and obviously hand breaded. Great hush puppies. Ordered it to go, but was still awesome. Hope to visit again

This is not the Cashiers Smokehouse of old. The new owner really know what they are doing. The service is good, the restaurant is clean and safe. The brisket is the best anywhere around here. The pulled pork and the chicken is wonderful too. Love the side except with the potato salad had the potatoes cut into smaller bite sized pieces. Their french fries are AMAZING! We have stopped by just to get and order of their fries. Visited multiple times since their opening. LOVE this place!

Went for a hike at Whiteside Mountain (recommended), but couldn't get into a place in Highlands. Came over to Cashiers and wait was very long at Ugly Dog, so we came here. We had been here a few years ago. Sadly, it didn't measure up to our previous visit, which wasn't particularly special anyway. The pork was very fatty and not cooked very well. They were out of pulled chicken, which is why we ended up with smoked turkey and pork. The black bean burger didn't hold together and just wasn't very good. The staff was pleasant, but the food just doesn't cut it. I doubt we'll return.

My wife and I are staying in Cashiers for a few days, and stopped in at Cashiers Valley Smokehouse. We split an order of pulled pork, and added a third side, giving us fries, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The shared meal was ample for both of us. The bbq sauce was very good, along with all of the sides. Coleslaw is a personal preference and I enjoyed their version. We will visit them again the next time we are in the area.

We had not been to the smokehouse in a while and stopped by for lunch. The Philly Brisket had melted cheese, onions and peppers and a toasted crusty large sublike bun and a huge portion of brisket. This choice was more than enough for the two of us and was very tasty. The coleslaw was excellent. I did not care for the hushpuppy that had had an overpowering spice that took away from it. If you order sweet tea I would order half and half. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Three generations of my family went for a weekend lunch. Outside seating was enjoyable, food ( BLTs, bbq sandwiches, ribs, etc) tasty, servers (mostly college & HS age) dependable efficient + friendly. What makes the experience a "3"? An uber cranky cashier inside taking orders = Impatient, condescending, looks of disdain complete with eye rolls if a question was asked or a menu selection wasn't understood just by reading the placard on the counter wall. We'll try it again, but will be leery if the person above mentioned is working. One suggestion: pass food out a window to outside servers. The entryway where patrons order - also used by servers - is too congested if more than 8 people are waiting in line.

Each time we are in the area we eat at The Smokehouse in Cashiers - so good!. There were only three people running the front of the restaurant and they were hustling!! I commend them for their good attitude and friendly personalities as there was a line of people out of the door trying to order or be seated. My husband and I both had the special - chopped rib sandwich - so good. The coleslaw if very tasty as well. We will return next time we are in the area!!

I was excited about this place and traveled to get there on a Wednesday. Check the operating hours, they are unusual. Arrived at 4:45 not knowing that they close at 5. It would have been nice if they had not dumped out the sweet tea at 4:44. Also strange that they wouldn't serve a take-out order from someone that arrived at 5:03. I had the pulled pork sandwich and wifey had the chicken. The pork was just average. The chicken was warm, at best and just OK. The baked beans were wonderful. Teh homemade chips were.....homemade, fried, crispy and flavorless. Oh well, checked it off the list, no need to go back.

We have ridden by this restaurant many times while on our motorcycle loop from Knoxville and just never stopped. Finally did last week. It was excellent. BBQ Chicken was great and my buddy had brisket sandwich. It was a huge portion. Could of easily fed us both. Weather was perfect so we ate outside. Service was good too. Like the idea of having outside, inside, and inside screened in dining areas. Fits all comfort levels. It will be a go to destination on future rides. You will not be disappointed.

Went here for lunch as everything for shopping nearby seemed closed. Was not impressed. Pulled pork seemed like day old as it was cold. Coleslaw was supposed to be vinegar and mayo based but tasted more vinegar and a lot of cabbage was brown. Husband had beef brisket that was good and fresh and the pork rinds were fresh but could have used some sort of seasoning.
