Great "pulled" pork, along with effective fixings. Never been let down, whether for lunch or dinner. If you don;t like pork, the chicken or brisket is just as good if not better. Fun place if you visit when planes are flying and customers "drop in" for a bite!

OMG! I ate the barbeque naked (without sauce, not without clothes) and it was so tender! They also have jalapeno butter to go with the hushpuppies. I will definitely eat here again. I wasn't as impressed with the Brunswick stew. Our waitress was very nice and helpful with ordering. Prices are reasonable, and this is a down home place, so... More

Pik N Pig is a great place to grab some delicious Eastern NC BBQ and is just a short drive out of Carthage, NC. My wife and I stop by whenever we are on a day trip that takes us in that direction. The 'Q is always good, smoked on site over a wood fire. The sides are typical Southern... More

Good brisket, pulled pork and chicken. My wife loves the salads. The smoked pork chop has great flavor, but is overcooked. It is very lean and probably needs less time in the smoker. The cornbread muffins, beans and coleslaw are very good. Atmosphere is pretty funky, but fun!

It's a hidden gem. Located in private airplane runway. Militaries in the aircraft often stops by to have lunch here. So exciting to see different private places. There's an RV park next to it and many of those campers enjoy this place. Was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Be sure to check it out if you're... More

A blast from the past! This little place is located in a beautiful, scenic setting next to a rural private airport where you can watch the planes come and go. And if you love Southern BBQ (which is more vinegar based), this is the place for you. Brisket! Pulled pork! Hush puppies! I always order the combo plate who gives... More

Inside and outside tables, long waits for dinnertime but the menu, choices, quality and service are worth the wait. Sits just off the runway at the Carthage Airport with a museum quality P40 with monuments explaining the historical significance.

Great fun and great food. The smoked chicken was perfect and the hush puppies were the best I've ever had! I've lived in NC all my life and eaten lots of hush puppies. We ate outside and watched the planes take off on a nice fall evening. It was a fun atmosphere and the service was outstanding.

Interesting BBQ restaurant along a short paved runway in rural North Carolina. We arrived for a late lunch on a beautiful sunny day and ate outdoors, so there were at least four small aircraft that finished up lunch and departed down the runway for parts unknown. The service was very good and the atmosphere was relaxed. You'll see the smoker... More

The restaurant is located next to a small airport landing strip so you can eat great BBQ while watching the planes coming and going! Fun experience!
