Loved the chips and salsa. Nice and fresh. Entrees were large but taste was average. A bit too much cheese on the enchilada and quesadilla.

It was okay. Typical Mexican. The queso was watery but overall the food was good. The tortilla chips were fresh and warm but the dip was certainly not freshly made. The service was good and staff was friendly. I had my kids so I didn't try their drinks but a group of ladies next to us really seemed to like... More

The name has changed to El Cazador. This was really great Mexican food at an exceptional price. Tremendous menu selection and prepared like the Texas-Mexico border towns do. Family cooking. The enchiladas combo was fabulous, washed down by Dos Exis draft beer. Homemade Salsa and chips. Nice atmosphere and very good service by friendly people.

We have been dining at El Zarape/ El Cazador in Carolina Beach for 3+ years, on-season and off, and I have never had a bad meal there for lunch or dinner. The service is always prompt and courteous, the food is excellent and it's in a great location. I've dined there with only adults, with families with young children, with... More

Standard Mexican cuisine. Everything on the menu is good, nothing to write home about. Can't have a bad meal there.

If you get a craving for Mexican food and don't want to travel off-island, then this is the place to go. The food is average, and service can be spotty depending on how packed they are. Parking is almost impossible - a handful of spots in the very narrow, sideways lot. You can try the street, but it's also limited.... More
