We've eaten in just about every restaurant in Calabash and this restaurant dose not disappoint. The outdoor seating in fall or spring is very relaxing and nice. The food is great and price are well within line of the area. Our waitress was very friendly...and took good care of us. The shrimp and flounder were fried just right, lightly breaded just like we like it. We shall return.More
Dining is all outside, your choice of front or back (water view) tables. We sat in the back to enjoy the water.
Our server was really nice, answering all of our questions. My husband and I both tried something new, he ordered the catch of...the day and I ordered the special. The catch of the day was snapper, which we both never had. It was lightly breaded served in a sandwich with french fries. He said it was very good. I liked it too, trying some as well. The special was snapper and shrimp served with hush puppies and coleslaw. I ordered it grilled and I’m very glad I did, it was delicious! My husband really liked it too.
Watch your food as there’s several birds just waiting for something to be unattended or dropped so they can take your food.
I highly recommend this place!! Excellent seafood!More
The four of us ate their on 10/28/20. Simple outdoor dining with umbrella tables on the waterfront. Nice and attentive server. Grilled flounder was excellent with really good seasoning. Fried grouper was very good. Fried scallops were very good.
My family went to this restaurant because we'd heard about it from friends. We found a seat and took our time to order because there were so many great options! The food arrived hot, perfectly cooked and seasoned and it was a great place to...enjoy a lunch!!! Unfortunately, we also had a dolphin cruise scheduled from this same company and didn't find out until an hour before departure that it had been cancelled, so that kind of messed with our plans. We were very excited about going out on the dolphin cruise. None the less, the food wos wonderful!!!More
This is an outdoor only restaurant in Calabash near the boat docks. Nothing fancy, but the food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. We live in the area, and it is one of our go to places for lunch.
a friend of ours recommended this place. Said it was the freshest seafood anywhere.
so, going by the GPS on my phone, you go to the end of Nance Road and it is on the left. Weeellll, this is right, but it is hidden back...between tow larger restaurants.
There is no inside seating. Just on the dock and out front at tables.
The seafood comes off their own boats and is cleaned by their own people and cooked to order.
our waitress was JULIE and she was a blast. sweet, funny, informative and not too overbearing.
I had the combo platter of Scallops and Shrimp. got for large sea scallops and abot eight large shrimp. mine was fried and the breading was almost non-existent which lets you really taste the freshness of the food. It was served with slaw and fries.
The prices ware better than other places I have been to and way better quality.More
Nestled down along the calabash boat docks, the seafood shack doesn’t have indoor dining, nor a fancy bar or large deck like the other tourist traps. It’s so unbecoming, with a few picnic benches and bar height dining along a rail facing the inter coastal...waterway, you cannot imagine that WSS is hands down one of the best fresh seafood spots in calabash. To top it off, the grilled pound cake is good to. Don’t judge a book by its cover is true in this case.More
