Attracted by the availability of sushi, we discovered a place not even close to your typical sushi restaurant. And what makes for a very unique & enjoyable experience is the sushi chef's creativity. Not every kind of sushi fish is offered, but the combination of standard fare with specialty items provides plenty of variety. I will return soon to repeat... More

One of the best parts about making sushi is that you get to play around with the ingredients in each roll. I'm glad our combinations were a big hit and look forward to having you back next time to try the Surfer Boy and have another tuna poke, too! Until then, Keith Gray, Owner More

With rare visits to the outer banks, choosing an open restaurant in the off-season is always chancy. A spur of the moment stop at Diamond Shoals turned out just fine. The Sonoran omelet looked good on the menu, although in truth it bears no resemblance to anything Sonoran. Wrapped in a blanket of eggs, the omelet is overstuffed with goodies:... More

Decor is warm and inviting with friendly staff to greet you. Sushi bar looked amazing. Service was very good food was delivered in a timely manner and very tasty. I got a big seafood platter and I have to say I'm a big eater and couldn't finish it. I would say though if you're looking for a quiet place to... More

On my first ever vacation to HI, I found that Diamond Shoals was a great place to eat. Generous portions and tasty food was consistent each time I visited. I have my very first taste of hush puppies there (we don't have those in Oregon). Best of all, a friend and I enjoyed a complete traditional turkey dinner at Diamond... More

Sunday, 22 November, 2015. After a five hour miserable drive in pouring rain we finally made it to Buxton and checked into the Cape Pines Motel. We got settled in and went on a recon as we hadn’t been down here in years. By early dinner time we were starving as we didn’t stop for lunch and our three dogs... More

I'm glad you stumbled across our place after being away from the island and hope to see you again whenever you're back in the Outer Banks. Until next time,... More

We visited in the off season. Consequently many restaurants were closed. Thankful to find an open restaurant we were very pleased with our meals. The yellow fin tuna wrap was delicious and plentiful. My wife's club was very good and more than she could eat. Our soups were overall very good tomato basil clam and calm chowder. However, they were... More

You should never be left without a hearty meal -- even in the off season! So, I'm glad that your tuna wrap, club sandwich, and those soups could satisfy all your lunch cravings. However, I apologize if your soup wasn't as warm as you would have liked -- had you brought this up at the time, we would have been... More

The grouper (grilled) is fantastic. Service was great. Prices were higher than at other places but lower than a few too~ high midrange?

We went here because of how many people loved the place. We went in and it was just a run down looking place but I don't judge by that. We got our orders in and it was only the two of us. I got the pork chops with fries and coleslaw and my husband got fried oysters with fries and... More
