Cafe Pamlico's mission is to provide a world class dining experience through exceptional food, outstanding detail oriented service, an inspired wine and cocktail program, and gracious attentive Southern hospitality. Our contemporary coastal cuisine is driven by locally sourced seafood, meats, and produce. Our menu changes frequently in accordance with the fresh ingredients our chefs discover on the island, most notably the fresh local seafood we feature. The fish we serve each evening is frequently taken from the nets of friends that very morning. We are committed to supporting local farmers and artisan food producers first, sustainable resources second, and organic third. The Cafe serves

The food was delicious, staff are excellent, and the views of the sound are amazing. I've been visiting Hatteras Island for over 20 years and just found this fabulous Inn and restaurant. It is by far the best on the island! We had several meals...during our stay including breakfasts and dinners on multiple days. I highly recommend it for a truly enjoyable fine dining experience.More

Love the restaurant here! The staff was so accommodating when we had to move inside as it was a little windy for our 6 month old that evening. The food is both creative and delicious, as are the craft cocktails. The view of the sound...is absolutely stunning. If you are looking for a fine dining experience or good place to go for a date night while you are on the island, this is the place to go! Special shout-out to our server, Willow. She is wonderful at her job and really made our dining experience extra special. We will definitely be back!More

Cafe Pamlico has amazing food. The breakfasts range from special omlettes, to delectable special pancakes (blueberry and strawberry with strawberry butter), to eggs benedict, to avocado toast, granola, berries, yogurt, hash browns, sausages, bacon, and the list goes on. Neither one of us could finish...our breakfast because the size was so generous. But we tried! Dinner is a feast for your eyes and your stomach. One night we had black sea bass that was cooked to perfection. The wait staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful. The crab mac n' cheese is superb. I cannot recommend the cafe more highly.More

We had a delightful dinner with a gorgeous view. Justin took great care of us, and we had a wonderful time without any pressure of being rushed.

Truly a local’s best kept secret! You would only find this place through word of mouth or if you were carefully scanning the roadway as it’s carefully tucked behind a gorgeous garden. My step mother & I had a three course dinner which included the...best Brussels sprouts I had ever had & some amazing mocktails & cocktails. The crab cakes & veggie pasta were so fresh & tasted delicious. Easily the one of the best restaurants on the island & one of the only upscale dining options. There was live music as well which was so nice! A must visit if you are in HatterasMore

Went for dinner there on Friday, July 1. We had reservations and were seated immediately with a wonderful view of the sound. Cocktails and starter (crab Mac & cheese) were on point and our dinners were amazing. I had the shrimp & grits (because yum!...of course) and my husband had the fried triggerfish with mango chutney. I prefer shellfish over finfish but his triggerfish was outstanding. Quite possibly the best fish dish I’ve ever tasted. Finished it off with some white chocolate crème brûlée. Lovely date night! And our server Ashley was wonderful. We will go back next time we’re in town. I definitely want to try their brunch, too.More

After reading all the reviews, we thought this place would surely be a slam dunk and a home run. Sadly, I became sick from it, and my husband found the dishes bland. Our filets were overcooked, scallops were ice cold, and the bisque was watered...down. I know times are tough, but when you pay $250 to go out for dinner, you want the restaurant on their game. I am happy for the people that had a good meal! I was hoping for our experience to be the same.More

The good news is that we discovered this restaurant from a coupon in our lousy, rip-off hotel. (See previous review for Hatteras Island Inn) For some reason the Inn on Pamlico Sound never appeared in my Hatteras searches. That's where Cafe Pamlico is located. But...I digress. WE TRULY LOVED THE RESTAURANT AND ATE THERE DINNER JUNE 3 and BREAKFAST JUNE 4 before getting the ferry to Ocracoke. Dining room had great view of the sound and breakfast was on an airy porch. So pleasant, with delicious food and drink. We had eggs benedict for breakfast and a pasta dish and a vegetable dish for dinner. With great drinks!More

We had our wedding celebration at the Inn on Pamlico Sound and Cafe Pamlico guided us through every step of the way with example menus, willingness to incorporate our asks, and finding vendors to fulfill our unique dessert and drink requests. The food was great...and as we rented out the full Inn for the wedding weekend, we were able to keep our leftovers from the welcome party and drinks in the community fridges and have them throughout the weekend. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how great the food was, including the brunch! As self-proclaimed foodies, we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. When we visit OBX we look forward to continuing to dine at Cafe Pamlico and enjoy the top notch food, often sources locally, and the incredible view.More

We stopped here on a whim while driving by and talked to someone in the parking lot who told us it was the best food on the island, we decided to try it and they were right! It is a fancier setting meant for enjoying...leisurely. Not meant for a quick bite or if you're in a rush. We spent about 2 hours for dinner. Also probably not the best for small children. The service was attentive and informative. Although we were only able to try a few items I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. We shared crab mac and cheese as an app and were surprised by the size, it was a generous portion and delicious, more tomato based than others we've had but very flavorful. For main dishes I got the shrimp and grits which was the best I've ever had, so creamy I don't know how they did it. My friend got the filet and scallops and raved about both. It was an expensive meal but the quality of food was worth it. We also had drinks and dessert and thought they were good but not the stars of the meal. If you're looking for a nice meal go here.More

Cafe Pamlico is a hidden gem. We stayed at The Inn and a full breakfast is included in your stay. Usually, a breakfast is just mediocre at best but not here. We also had dinner on Friday and Saturday night during our stay. The quality,...attention to detail and service were outstanding. I've never had a better meal in my 40 plus years of visiting the Outer Banks. Make reservations...you will not be disappointed.More

Dallas provided excellent service and he gave great wine recommendations that complemented the meals we ordered. I ordered the filet and it had a nice flavor and my husband ordered the fish special of the black drum. It was moist and flakey. We will definitely...be back the next time we visit Hatteras.More

We do not have lobster as a regular menu item. We do have it on special from time to time, but you would have to call a week or so before your visit to know for sure.
