We have visited the Outer Banks for 20 years, we discovered our very first trip which was the very first year this little restaurant was open, the name of this restaurant was called the Buxton munch. The food was so amazing the staff was superb...and the owners were two of the most gracious and caring people I have ever met. Here we are 20+ years later and each year when we visit the Outer Banks the Buxton munch is our first stop. And of course it is our last stop the day before we leave. We have never had a bad experience, never had bad food, service has always been top notch, and the owners always make you feel welcome. This year was a little different due to Covid but the amazing thing is is the Buxton much put out tables with umbrellas and brought our food directly to our picnic table. It was hot, fresh and of course the server was wearing gloves and a mask. I can’t even tell you what my favorite things are but they’re fish tacos and shrimp corn chowder is always a must. So until we go back in April I can only dream of the food and service I get from this place.More

I've been coming to OBX for years. Not sure why I hadn't been to Buxton Munch before. No matter - I'm making up for lost time. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious. The fish tacos are my favorite so. My wife loves the...crab cakes. Did I mention fresh and delicious.... Another thing sets this place apart: curbside pickup. I'm not sure why more places aren't offering curbside down here. But Buxton Munch has the system down. Don't miss this place!More

Buxton Münch isn’t must when you are in the Outer Banks. Even with all the Covid restrictions that have been implemented the Buxton Münch going above and beyond to make sure that you have a terrific dining experience. They have set up six nice picnic...tables with umbrellas where you can enjoy eating your lunch right there in front of the restaurant or you can choose to do curbside. They have made it so easy to be able to order your food and they bring it right out to you whether you’re sitting at the tables or you’re waiting in your car. Our family has been going to the Buxton Munch since the first year was open 21 years ago. The staff, and the owners make you feel like you’re the only guest at their restaurant. They definitely go above and beyond as far as service, cleanliness, and the atmosphere is always terrific. Now their food what can you say about it besides it is superb. My personal favorite is a bowl of shrimp corn chowder and blackened mahi tacos. The prices are excellent and the portions are huge. When we come for our vacation the Buxton Munch is at least two if not three times our choice of restaurant. I highly recommend when you come even if you were staying up in kill Devil Hills make the drive to Buxton and have the experience that only the Buxton Munch can give you. I promise you will not be disappointed.More

First off do yourself a favor and order the shrimp tacos. They are by far amazing. My wife and I frequent Buxton Munch pretty much every day when we visit. The staff is absolutely amazing. The owner puts her heart and soul into the restaurant...and it absolutely shows. We have had a wide variety of items from the menu and nothing fails to ever disappoint. Once they open the inside again, do yourself a favor and go. Take the time, get to know the staff. The vibe is exactly what everyone needs in their life.More

Best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The mahi was so fresh and love the sauce (crema?). You will need to assemble as all the ingredients are separate, but that actually allows the tortillas to maintain integrity on the go. You have to call in your...order (menu is online, but no order form or app, but the tacos are so good that they are more than worth the trouble.More

Buxton Munch is a small family owned restaurant that continues to serve fresh and delicious foods! The fish tacos are outstanding and offer more than one person can eat! The crabby patty is always fresh, crab filled and delicious. It is a place that welcomes...its guests with friendly smiles and courteous staff.
