If you are tired of the corporate conformity of Starbucks, then this is the place for you. Great local food lunch style, great coffee and great bagels. Try the daily soup. Sit downstairs or upstairs for more privacy and outside when the weather is nice (as it often is in this part of North Carolina!).

We were out shopping in Burnsville and stopped in for lunch. At first, I was wondering if they even served food, as it looks like only a coffee and dessert shop at first glance. I ordered an egg salad sandwich on gluten free bread and and a side salad with the house dressing. The egg salad was slightly spicy and... More

We happened to go the first day they had initiated evening meals. My vegetarian tex-mex salad was absolutely delicious! The personnel was very attentive. Good prices. I would have gone back for more, but others in our party wanted to try out other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

We had gone into this little cafe and were told we would have to wait 30 minutes for food in August. So many people had told us to go there that we decided we would go back for lunch. $20.00 for a mediocre turkey panni and a bowl of vegetable soup was outrageous!.. The iced tea was more like water... More

I am sorry you had a bad experience at our shop/cafe. I wish you had said something about it to us so we could have had the chance to make it right. Now our food is organic which is more expensive than if it wasn't organic. But wish we had had the chance to make your visit satisfactory. We try... More

I've spent most of my time here with my nose in the books. I've had the coffee and some baked goods, and both were good. I can't really comment on the consumables beyond that, because I didn't consume them with a critical mindset. There is an upstairs area that is usually fairly cool and quiet, and it's a great place... More
