Worth the drive. Average menu offerings but the view is outstanding. We enjoyed the rocking chairs outside while we waited. Nice gift shop to browse also. Very kid friendly also.

This visit surprised me...Post lunch and it was busy...The salad I ordered was not particularly fresh or tasty...Turkey on mixed salad. The coffee was good and my seat was great.

We visited Mt. Mitchell State Park and ate here on the way home. We went for an early dinner because we heard it gets crowded. We also went during the week (Thursday). We were able to get a table with a view right away. The...food was great, but the view and atmosphere were what made it for us. They have a porch on the back with rocking chairs that overlooks the mountains. It was beautiful. Highly recommend taking a few minutes to sit and enjoy the view after you eat!More

We visited at lunch on an August weekday. It was not crowded. The views were clear and the temperature felt so much better at 59 than the 90s back home. Make this one of your stops.

Stopped by on Saturday around 2pm. We only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for 5. Menu had a good variety of choices. At our table, we had the burger with fries, meatloaf with potato salad and fried okra, flatbread pizza and...salad, trout almondine with okra and potato salad and fettucine alfredo with shrimp and salad. One of us also had the clam chowder. We all agreed that the prices and portions were great and the food was delicious and well prepared. Service was good and we had plenty to eat. Had the peach cobbler for dessert with ice cream as they said it just came out of the oven. Very yummy! Nice view from the front porch and we took several pictures. They have a small gift shop with t-shirts, sweatshirts, coats, etc. We would eat here again.More

We stopped here on the way down from the peak. Our 3 meals were a hot dog, a sloppy joe, and meatloaf. Everyone liked their food. The servers really hustle, and try hard to please. Good place for a quick bite. Lovely views.

After visiting the Mount Mitchell park, we stopped for lunch since there's nothing else around!!! Short wait, free flavored water, and an observation deck with rocking chairs that it's worth the stop!!! Food was average, tasty, hit the spot after a short hike. Great peach...cobbler!!!More

My mother in law wanted to visit Biltmore. We went on a Friday (less crowded). Our second day we drove up the parkway towards Mt Mitchell. It has been 30 years since I have been there. Beautiful day. We stopped at Craggy Gardens for a...short hike. This restaurant was a surprise. Food was delicious. I asked to sample the chicken salad before I ordered a sandwich. It had apples and grapes. Hint, You have to like mayonnaise! Wifi is sketchy and sometimes the credit card machine is a bit slow. Be patient.More

Our family of 6 stopped in for lunch and waited 25 minutes before even being seated, with tons of open tables, the manager just kept saying the kitchen couldn’t keep up with all the tables full. They had a very limited menu but what they...had was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we always had drink and anything we needed.More

When driving the Blue Ridge Parkway you are sure to go by Mt Mitchell State Park. Stop there at the restaurant to eat. The staff is friendly and the views phenomenal! We had different meals and loved it all. It’s a good respite spot for...the travel weary.More
