Portion size is just right!

We stopped here for dinner on a recommendation of our son and his roommate, who are both students at Elon. They really like this restaurant. We bought food for 6 people, appetizers and dinners. The price was great and the food was awesome. As mentioned, the portions were a perfect size.

Re-visits were much, much better!

In 2018, I've twice visited Peking House - and they have made nice improvements, plus the food is hot, fresh, and delicious. I love that they have brown rice as an option. The restaurant is clean, the staff is pleasant, the choices are many - and we've really, really enjoyed our recent visits. I recommend with confidence.

After a trip to CA, I came in with a picture of a dish I had in a restaurant that was amazing. Described it to the lady behind the counter who went to the cook and explained what I wanted. What was delivered to my table was almost identical to the dish I had in CA! Wonderful! The staff will got out of their way to accommodate you! The food was fresh and hot and the crab rangoons are some of the best I have ever had. I can go in now & order the Lala special and they know exactly what I want. Every time it is delicious! :) The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the interior could use some updating.

I come here often in the morning and early afternoon. Never a long wait and reliable service. It is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Burlington. There is a different Chinese called China Gate that is much closer to me, but I prefer Peking House. It is both affordable and great tasting Chinese food that I'd highly recommend. I've never had any issues with cleanliness with this restaurant despite coming here multiple times a week.

I had the Chicken fried rice was good and fresh. Triple Delight was good and spicy. We came straight up at 11 am. Service very good and staff very nice.

Food is very good. Menu is similar to most Chinese restaurants, as are prices. Everyone is very friendly and the restaurant itself is very clean with plenty of seating.

Went for dinner after work and noticed I was the only customer that ate inside. All the other orders were either take out or delivery. The atmosphere was not appealing at all, but was so surprised when they brought my food on a china plate!!! A very nice touch. Food was average, nothing special about food and prices are the same as most other places. Ignored after I was brought my food, so customer service as neither good or bad...it did not exist.

Nice to have free delivery but food isn't that great

Ordered from Peking House for dinner. They offer free delivery with a $15 minimum order and delivery was quick. The food wasn't that great. The chicken teriyaki was dry. The spring rolls were pretty good and the crab Rangoon was very good. Would definitely recommend it. The general tso's chicken was mushy and didn't have good flavor. The rice was ok. Would not order from here again. Will try somewhere different.

Consistently Good Takeout

We've been ordering takeout from Peking House for years, and it's always fast, accurate, and affordable. As Chinese food goes, it's very tasty too...we prefer it over other places in the area. My kids would eat the sweet & sour chicken three meals a day if we let them, and their pork lo mein is consistently delicious. And it's worth ordering from them just for the incredible crab rangoons! We have eaten in a few times and been underwhelmed with the decor, but it's not unclean really...just outdated and a bit worn. No big deal, although we do prefer to take out. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did!

Pretty good - the food was good, the atmosphere - not so much

Stopped in for a Sunday early evening bite... and we were the only diners the whole time we were there. There is no atmosphere whatsoever - just a typical storefront - walk-up to the counter and order - go find a seat in the small dining area - restrooms in the back. We got Cashew Chicken with stir-fry veggies over white rice... and 2 egg rolls. The food came out fairly quickly, was hot, and was pretty good. There were ample cashews - and way too many chopped pieces of celery... but I'd still give it a "pretty good". The tile floors are kind of mis-colored and the seating area was a little dingy. The restrooms were not up to my standards - but were not filthy. Overall - I'd give it a 3.5 ( a little above "Average" - but certainly not "Very Good").

I would not eat here again because the restaurant was dirty and disgusting. There was dust, dirt and cobwebs everywhere. I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. I'm not really sure how they passed inspection.

Good Chinese Take-Out

We've been ordering from Peking House for several years and we really love the food. We've only ever do take out and we've never had a bad meal! The food is always hot and fresh and you get enough for several meals out of one order. I highly recommend the hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, orange chicken, pepper steak, and cashew chicken. The staff is friendly and service is always very prompt. If you're looking for great Chinese take-out, look no further than Peking House!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. We'd never been before. We walked in through doors that were incredibly dirty -- worse than a drive thru's window. We were the only customers. The counter area looked disorganized and dirty/grimy but it was mostly the walls and floors so we ordered. After looking up I saw the kitchen. It was cluttered and looked from my vantage also somewhat dirty but again it was the floor. The food that was out appeared fresh enough and there was no garbagey smell or anything. The drink had only a few cups and there were boxes of supplies on the counter next to it. Not for customer use but big shipping boxes of sauce cups, etc. I can understand as there was no where in the back for them. We went to a booth. My husband who is not all that picky made the comment he'd never seen such a dirty napkin dispenser and he gingerly removed one and only touched stuff with it. I began to think of that chef show where they redo a dirty restaurant--they need to do a good clean up. However the food was delivered on clean plates and presented nicely. It was hot and fresh. I had Bean Curd Homestyle and my husband go Orange Chicken. Mine was very good and he was happy with his. They did do some take out orders so we were no longer the only customers. You might ask why we stayed and ate after the above. It was because the rating from the health inspector was 92.5 and it was done in March of this year. I'd have given a 3 if they were cleaner. I honestly hope we just went on a bad day. But I have no plans to go back.
