Hemlock Inn was a place my family frequented during my childhood. Now that I am married and don't tag along with them on trips, I now can choose where I want to go. The Hemlock Inn was one place we couldn't drive by and not stop. I love the food, the view, and especially Mort and his wife. I look... More

For those of you who love "retro" (1950's and 1960's) you will LOVE this place. It is quaint, charming, and remeniscent of simpler times. The dining room is all homestyle charm with recipes from that era that will take you back to your grandma's house. Huge tables are FILLED at breakfast and dinner with comfort food and fellowship with about... More

Well, at dinner, there is a prayer. I am not into that. The people sit at a big round table with a lazy susan in the middle. Everyone helps themselves. By the time the okra got around to me, it was all gone. I should have prayed for more okra! When I told the waitress that I would like some,... More

It is a secluded B&B and very restful. The owner is very nice and attentive. The breakfast is so good and you sit with others around a round table. The service at the breakfast is superb.

We always love the Hemlock Inn. Family style dining at breakfast and dinner around round tables with lazy Susan's.. You meet your fellow guests and their families and share not only experiences, but your life stories and political vies and all kinds of neat stuff. You don`t want to leave the table.. Children immediately begin playing outdoors after the meal... More

Maybe we hit a bad spell. We stayed here because my wife read a blog glorifying this place. We were extremely let down. The food was average at best. The bacon was regularly burned, the remainder didn't agree with us. And the family style was difficult since we were the only guest not affiliated with a wedding, which limited conversation.... This place is one of those gems that you would never find on your own. It is tucked away of the main road and you need more that a GPS to find it. The food is the best of home cooked meals that you will find anywhere and served a bit differently. You cannot just walk in and get a... More

We enjoyed another meal at the Hemlock Inn on a lovely October evening this week as we passed through the Bryson City area while traveling in the mountains We appreciate the inn offering a meal even though we were not overnight guest. They require reservations at least 24 hours in advance in order to insure there is adequate food for... More
