The restaurant wasn't crowded and seemed to be plenty of staff. We got chips , then it was like we weren't there. Waited almost 15 minutes before anyone came to take order - only then because we asked if we were going to be waited...on. Food was good but nobody seemed to know what to do.More
Chips & salsa served before we ordered - food was wonderful. Daughter ordered a strawberry daiquiri that came with a fun straw presentation. Service as fast.
Took the family for dinner. Waitress forgot my meal and disappeared after we ordered. Had to get a manager involved to explain the situation. They coukd care less. Had to get a manager to get our bill and explain the overpriced $15 small margaritas. Food...is average at best and every other Mexican restaurant in Bryson City is better. Sorry but true.More
I travel to Bryson City several times a yr alone with my very spoiled pups. I always plan this restaurant on my first nite in town! The food is always good and it’s a fair amount of time for them to fix it. They are...always kind and it’s always pretty crowded! But it’s well worth it! I have loved everything I have ever ordered from them! I always get take out which I never think is a great as eating in but I don’t wanna eat alone at packed restaurants and I don’t want to leave the pups longer than I have too! I highly recommend this restaurant if u like good Mexican food!!More
We had struck out several times this day, including with restaurants and were all (family of 4) starving. We stopped at Guayabitos at about 5:30pm and were seated and our orders were taken immediately. Our food came out hot in about 15 minutes and was...delicious. A wonderful find in an area with very few restaurants.More
Myself, my 1 year old and her father went in for a quick late lunch on the way back to our home away from home , after the zoo. I ordered 3 tacos which was listed on their menu for $6 . I got 4...tacos plus a side. He ordered the same also 4 came to the table. He also ordered a side that was prepared wrong and was missing the meat. I ordered a margarita with NO salt. I got a margaritas with salt. Our server never came to check on us after our food was delivered. I was out of my small margarita , needed something to drink.. had to wave my napkin in the air for 5 mins until our server finally showed up. Food wasn't horrible but surely was not desirable or great. By the time we left he had nothing to drink. We had a table covered in unordered mediocre food and a bill for $47 dollars . This was around 3 in the afternoon, not a busy time and just a hold over meal until we go for dinner later. No one listened to any of our complaints. Just shrugged it off like we were a bother to them . I do not recommend this restaurant as a matter of fact even for a quick snack or hold over , I'd tell u just to go through a drive thru or make a sandwichMore
After a day in Sylvia, we decided to stop by here for a early dinner! We were very pleased with the service and this little place. Great drinks and cheese/Queso and salsa! Fresh chips and plenty of refills. I had the Steak and Chorizo Combo...with rice and sauce, my wife had the Grilled Chicken Burrito and a side of Rice. Both meals were excellent and fulfilling . Recommend if In the Western NC area or Bryson City….More
We ate here over the 4th of July weekend. With two vegetarians in our group, we wanted something for everyone. This little gem of a restaurant did not disappoint. Everyone raved about the food. Outstanding service, a wonderful menu and a fun place to dine.
Good food and service. We went once but the wait time was longer than we were willing to hang out. A good decision to come another day. The fried ice cream is amazing!! I will be headed back and recommend eating here.
We expected our fajitas to be grilled, with perhaps a little crisp on the meats and vegetables. The vegetables were nearly uncooked, and the meats (our group got fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp) looked and tasted like they were boiled or steamed in water....This restaurant seems to think that customers will be satisfied with anything served... as long as there is alot of product. They give you a fair volume of food, but its unseasoned (except for salt) and not cooked correctly. I hope that the cooks/management at Guayabito's remember why people go out for Mexican food. We won't settle for bland, poorly cooked, tasteless food just because of large servings and average prices. Service was fast and friendly.More
Great food and service. It’s not “downtown” Bryson City but it’s only a little bit down route 19 and worth the short drive. Great service. GREAT food! All at a reasonable price. Loved it.
Here’s a fun experiment: order a Guayabitos tamale, bring it home, cut it into square pieces. Then open a can of overstuffed beef ravioli from Chef Boyardee. Compare the two at any temperature. They are almost indistinguishable, Seriously, if the goal of Guayabitos was to...recreate the life-draining magic that can only be found in a can of cuisine-agnostic tomato sauce soaked filler pillows, then well done. You might detect a pork fiber here or there.... Otherwise, bravo/felicidades Guayabitos; you have achieved what generic canned ravioli makers only dream of. The ghost of Chef Boyardee is kissing his fingers in salute of your accomplishment. Seriously, go to La Poblana up on Rt 19 for a decent tamale.More
This is an excellent little Mexican restaurant right in the heart of Bryson City. Everything we ordered was very good and relatively fast coming out. I totally recommend the chicken nachos, they were amazing! And the prices great! Our family of four ate for $40...with drinks. This is a must try restaurant if you love Mexican food.More
Really was not that good and pretty slow service. We order fajita nachos ,cascades and cheese dip and it took almost 30 minutes to get and 30 minutes to get the check. Just not that good
